Geeky, Gorgeous Wedding

Kat

December 1, 2009

And I mean geeky in the BEST way possible! I am a huge geek fan (and I even married one myself) Emma & Daniel had their very own geek fest wedding incorporating everything they love - gadgets, games, Japanese culture...and CAKE (seriously this sounds like my husbands dream wedding!) Emma looked beeeautiful in her Benjamin Roberts dress and Rocket Dog shoes, espeically when she walked down the aisle to the Edward Scisossorhands theme and out to Star Wars! They also had a wonderful super 8 film made which I can not wait to see (and blog) very soon! Thanks to Emma & Daniel for being so geeky and gorgeous!

Oooh what a set of tasty treats I have for you this week. As ever, I have been blown away with the joy that blog land and the internet has spread this week. First off an extra special mention to Naz of Oliver Rue who sent me a little delight in the post in the form of some 'rockstar' magnets and the most adorable handmade card which is now adoring my fridge. I can not express how happy this package made me. I was having a really stressful day and getting home to a parcel wrapped in leopard print really made my week! {lookie!}

September 22, 2009

My darlings the time has come - new contest alert woop woop! Ever since our honeymoon in Tokyo I have been somewhat obsessed with all things Japanese - from the fashion to the food I seriously love it all. So you can imagine my delight when I discovered TokyoMade, a fantastic Tokyo-based company who design, make and ship (worldwide!) their awesome kawaii creations. After lusting and swooning a little bit more than what could be deemed as normal over their site, I spoke to the pair behind the company, Masao & Deanne, who were of course delightful! But even better than all this, you lucky lucky readers, the pair have donated three fantastically kitsch and faaabulous Lissita Tresure Globe Rings for a super kawaii giveaway! I will be giving away two prizes this time so you have two ways to enter. 1. Comment below saying which ring you would like to win (Bow, Violin or Fly...the third one will be mine but I can't choose which one to keep as I love them all so whichever one doesn't get won I will keep!) and why. 2. Follow both @RocknRollBride and @TokyoMade on Twitter and tweet the following message @RocknRollBride @TokyoMade I need to win the XXX ring because.... You have until Friday 25th September to enter. Rustic Glamour

Kat

September 22, 2009

The Marvimon in LA has become rather an iconic venue to me over this past year. I have never failed to adore every wedding I'm sent that has taken place within it's walls. Sabrina & Kevin's is no different. The day started as a somewhat traditional western affair - she: a bundle of radiance in her pastel palette and Claire Pettibone gown and he: the perfect accompaniment to his bride. The bridesmaids looked stunning and the flowers (supplied La Partie Events) were out of this world gorgeous. The whole day exudes rustic glamour. Come nightfall, Sabrina changed into a Kimono for the festivities and family party. Thanks, as ever, to the always lovely Erin & Court for allowing me to share this gorgeous wedding! This wedding has also been featured on The Bride's Cafe but I couldn't resist a little sneak too! Credit: ErinHeartsCourt

A Tokyo Story

Kat

June 28, 2009

I love Japan rather a lot (have you noticed that about me!?) I love the fashion, the food, the people...the Hello Kitty - everything. In fact I think there is nothing about Japan I don't like, and Tokyo is by far the most amazing city I have ever been to. So when I clapped eyes on Sandra & Richard's engagements by the fabulous Tealily Photography I had no doubt in my mind that a feature would be getting underway. Photographer Trish described their shoot: Joel and I waited at the old green carriage and the statue of the dog which seemed to be a very popular thing to do amongst the human sea of trendy Japanese and slighty overwhelmed tourists. I had only conversed with Sandra via email to that date and suddenly realised I had no idea who I was looking for until I spotted a couple of sweet faces pull through the crowd. We had decided to catch up for dinner since Joel and I were passing through Tokyo and decided to try and fit in a few shots before the light disappeared for the night. We weren't quite sure where to head for these photos in the crazy streets of Tokyo, but Sandra had decided to triple up this date as a bit of sightseeing for us and lead the way. One of the many things I love about Tokyo is how diverse the city is. One minute your under the bright lights of the Shibuya crossing, then you turn a corner and your right in front of an ancient shrine. I would live there in a heartbeat. Thank for the reminiscing Trish & Joel!
