Sahara and Montes met at a club around Halloween 2024. They barely spoke that first night, choosing instead to stand together and listen to the music as though they already knew each other. That shared taste in music inspired their wedding two years later. The wedding came together at serious speed. They booked their venue, Sahara bought her dress and they organised the remaining details just two weeks before the day!

Held at The Abbot House in Seguin, Texas, the couple described the day as “a gothic romance fantasy come to life”. They filled the venue with the music and details they liked, then asked every guest to arrive in black. “If I could change a ‘rule’ about weddings it would be guest dress code, we had everyone in black like a funeral but it fit our vision perfectly”, the bride told us.

he ceremony took place late in the evening and Sahara walked down the aisle to a piano version of My Immortal by Evanescence. The couple continued the moody gothic romance soundtrack throughout the night. “A lot of the ceremony is a blur”, she continued, “but I remember every moment with my love by my side, our vows were beautiful and we’re lucky to have been able to listen to what we truly love and value about each other.”

As their ceremony took place in the evening, the couple decided to have a short reception. Everyone sat down for a meal before the couple cut their bloody cake. That was it! “It was short but it was very special”, Sahara said. “One thing I wish people understood about having a non-traditional wedding is that not everyone is the same. What you like and the traditions you choose are for your own happiness. We simply did the same thing and it was exactly what made us happy.”
