Pat and Veronica’s Californian wedding was held at a private residence in Lake Sherwood. The bride rented her amazing Vera Wang dress from onenightaffair.com and wore it with epic Christian Louboutin boots and a homemade veil. She wanted her bridesmaids to look just as good as she did, so they wore sexy leather numbers from Alice and Olivia – there were no ill-fitting, unflattering bridesmaid dresses here!
“When it came to the theme of our wedding, I kept thinking about Maleficent”, Veronica said. “Although her wardrobe was dark, her surroundings were beautiful and earthy. Besides my dress being black, my bridesmaids wearing leather and Pat’s green hair, our wedding was quite pretty and rustic!”
The bride really wanted to put her own stamp on their venue so they spent a lot of time on all the little details. “We did all the décor ourselves. My favourite bit was all the little things we made for people to do. We had a photo booth, a caricature artist, a cappuccino cart, an In-n-Out truck, a candy bar, a flip cup with beer (and red bull for sober people), giant Jenga, corn hole and lots more!”
“Our biggest expenses were the rentals, because they set the overall look of the wedding”, she continued. “All the extra details and personalised items really made it look great. We also had lots of take home goodies for our guests – I love a goodie bag! People always say nobody notices the details but I don’t think that’s true. The little details were what so many people complimented me on. They appreciated the effort and they made the wedding so much more fun for me!!”
“Another thing people always say it’s it’s ‘your day’ and while I think that’s true, those people often have their own agenda too”, Veronica concluded. “My advice to other couples would be to do what makes you happy including ditching all bride responsibilities during the party to just dance, drink and have a blast!”
