When I first looked through this shoot by Lithuanian photographer Saulės Pieva I was honestly a bit chilled. It's definitely got that creepy-spooky vibe going on. So where do I begin trying to explain the awesomeness of Renee & Ian's undead steampunk wedding? I think maybe the title gives away just how amazing this wedding is going to be doesn't it? The couple were married at Catalyst, a private live/work artist community in Chicago. "We actually had to 'audition' for the space," Renee told me. "The members have a delicate relationship with the community and can't risk any trouble. We had to prove to them over several months that we talented and responsible enough to be able to use their space. We had to foster a personal relationship with them before they would even consider us. It was tedious, but worth it in the end. We gained some more wonderful friends for our already stellar collection, and the space allowed us freedom that traditional venues could not (like staying until 6am and coming back later in the week to help clean up)."Read more...

An old elevator and a creepy, deserted boiler room made for the setting du jour for Patrica's Trash the Dress shoot. The venue was actually the basement of the hair salon she works in (Celebrity Hair in Edmonton) Photographer Elizabeth explains: The elevator in the building is just awesome with old scuffed hardwood floors, wood grate and brick walls surrounding. Patricia worked a pretty traditional looking dress, but the photos are far from traditional! We had some fun with a big chunk of tulle that looks awesome in the photos! We ended he session in the very scary pitch black boiler room. The only light in there was the flashlight that I was using to light the session. It was so quiet and creepy down there and then every so often the boiler would roar to life! Was scary, but totally worth it because look at how awesome the photos are! Part two of today's love for The Philippines comes in the form of these stunning images sent by Jeffroger Kho. Arthur & Sheilan are one seriously cool couple and I am nuts about that purple dress! Jeffroger described this session as 'an engagement session on steriods' and I certainly have to agree. It's not everyday a photographer shoots a couple in a spooky, abandoned house that looks like it belongs on an Asian horror movie set or on a windswept beach standing in a box and wrapped in clingfilm! These shots seriously wouldn't look out of place in Vogue and I am smitten. Thanks to Jeffroger for thinking of me and knowing how much I'd love these when he sent them over!Read more...

There is something a little bit spooky about this day after session and I can't put my finger on exactly what it is...maybe it's the dark lipstick vs the pale skin (very stylish don't ya know!?) or maybe it's the vast annd slightly creepy abandoned location. Filipino photographer Jeffroger Kho sent me these stunning engagements which perfectly reflect his 'wild, crazy, and downright addictive' style. These are kinda spooky and dark but I seriously love them (yes even the creepy doll) Check it out... The client Mark and Johanna are photographers and very artistic individuals. You can check out their site here as well Happy Garaje Graphic Design and Illustration. Their style is really dark, desaturated, and textured. And I am happy that I was able to capture that and also reflect the clients style. The outfits are from the clients own wardrobe. They pretty much have everything already. They collect a lot of old stuff as well so it quite reflects much of their personality. I believe that this set is very Rock n Roll because it's different, downright crazy, non-conventional, and most importantly it reflects much of the personality of the client and not just a random theme just for the sake of having a theme.
