Spontaneous, Sunrise Stone-Circle Wedding in West Cornwall

As photographer-duo of both Enchanted Brides and Cornwall Elopements, Jo and Patrick are no strangers to weddings, so when we received this submission in our inbox we knew it would be otherworldly, symbolic, unique and brilliant!

“We loved the idea of a two-part elopement,” Jo began. “Our love of nature and the outdoors and uniting our little family in a symbolic and meaningful way was our main priority. We did not want to buy things just for the sake of a wedding or follow a theme or a trend, we just wanted it to be as low-key as possible but still meaningful.”

With this in mind, the couple spent around £1500 and planned everything in just a few weeks. “We have seen so many weddings in our time as wedding photographers so we wanted to do something a little different. Also, we find weddings so wasteful, or people doing things to keep other people happy and also all the faff and stress people put on themselves with planning. We didn’t want our own wedding to feel like work or something we had seen before. We took inspiration from nothing but everything that just felt ‘right’ and effortless.”

Spiritual Elemental Wedding at Joshua Tree National Park

Mar and Nancy were Instagram friends for years before they met in person. Inspired by their spiritual journey, they chose to marry in Joshua Tree National Park, California, surrounded by their closest friends.

Their ceremony was unique to them and rather than plan every second, they let everything flow. They told us, “We didn’t plan our vows. We wanted everything to flow organically from our hearts. Our friends used their didgeridoos to cleanse our auricular field, and as a blessing for our union. It was simple, but powerful, given the location, the crystal grid our friends created, and the intention our friends and us set for our union.”

Spiritual Woodland Wedding with Crystals and Sage Stick Smudging

If you are interested in spirituality, this is the wedding for you. Felix and Jack’s delightful woodland wedding, held in the garden of their family home, was inspired and led by their spirituality, with numerous rituals taking centre stage.

“We were inspired by our belief that all things are connected, and energies are much more profound when shared collectively,” the couple explains. “Upon arrival, our guests took part in a sage purification ceremony to rid themselves of any negative energies. The ceremony involved walking through the billowing smoke of burning sage smudge stick, then balancing the masculine/yang aspect of that exercise by passing through the feminine/yin aspect of incense. Clapping or ringing a bell between the two produces a total cleansing effect.”

Modern Winter Witch Californian Wedding

Kelly and Oscar describe their wedding as “modern winter witch themed” and we’re inclined to agree. Their beautifully moody day was inspired by witch practices including herbalism, crystals, tarot and the importance of natural, balanced elements.

“These elements weren’t just for show,” the couple explain, “but are things of importance to both of us. Having all the elements present, that the building had openings in all directions (north, east, south, west), crystals to bring good energy and spirits into the area, herbs to chase away bad energy and spirits, celebrating the cycle of life by having both living and dead pieces; all of these details were intentionally brought in to not only create a fun ambience for the guests, but to include things of deep meaning and importance to us.
