Revenge of the Sith Warehouse Wedding

Attention Star Wars fanatics, Adéla and Milan’s wedding is about to blow your mind! They met at a LARP battle and are big LARPers and Star Wars fans, so obviously they had to bring both of these things into their day. They found an amazing warehouse in Prague to host it, and went ALL OUT on the theme.

Although they make many of their own costumes usually, for their wedding they decided to hire a dressmaker to create their outfits which were based on the Sith robes. “Milan’s was inspired by Kylo Rens’ robe from Episode VII and I was inspired by many different Pinterest Sith robes and Amidala pins”, said Adéla.

The warehouse space was the perfect backdrop for them, but it was a completely empty shell meaning they had to bring everything in themselves. “Since the factory was insanely big we prepared just three rooms”, she continued. “One where the ceremony was (after it transformed into a dance floor), another with the food and drinks and the third which had a projector where we played all the movies and some comfy sofas. There was also a table with Lego where people could make spaceships for a competition!”

Abandoned Railway Station Wedding in Czech Republic

Tereza and Josef were married at an abandoned freight railway station in the Czech Republic! They had an outdoor ceremony followed by a reception full of all the things they love… and gold dinosaurs!

“The ceremony was set outside, it was really fun!”, began Tereza. “We met with our officiant few days before the wedding in a pub, we got drunk and he asked us all sorts questions about our relationship and he made a lot of notes. His speech was awesome, very personal and everybody laughed. Also, a group of our friends put blue wigs on – it was a surprise for us and another hilarious moment of the ceremony! Instead of ring cushion, we had the rings ready on a heavy metal hand from Urban Outfitters.”

The day was inspired by all the things they love, and the bride got lots of different ideas from Rock n Roll Bride! “My style is Rock n Roll. It’s not just the fashion but all my life. It is freedom and happiness and little dirt and punk. So was the wedding. We love old abandoned factories and spaces of this kind. That is why we chose the railway station, so it was industrial. We also had gold dinosaurs. They matched with my golden skirt, and by the end of the day all dinosaurs were stolen by the guests! Five days before the wedding I woke up with the idea of having gold dinosaurs at the wedding. So I visited about five shops with kids toys and bought all the plastic dinosaurs they had and then sprayed them gold. We also asked two of our friends to draw big Stegosaurus on the floor of the venue. It was fenced with police tape, so it looked like the shape of a dead body of the Stegosaurus.”

Ethereal, Dark and Romantic Wedding in Prague

Hannah and Ben’s wedding was inspired by fairy tales, Halloween and Bram Stokers Dracula! Their day was ethereal dark and romantic, with little touches of macabre beauty. “My veil had tiny gold bats embroidered onto it and there were gold spiders on the flower girls bags,” began Hannah. “Later in the day we went on a vintage tram ride with accordion players followed by a boat ride with a saxophonist. We didn’t tell our guests beforehand so it was a nice surprise for everyone.”

Their ceremony was held at baroque palace in Prague and was their favourite part of the day. “I walked down the aisle to rather dark romantic cellist music and we wrote our own vows which included Ben saying to me ‘I promise as your husband to make every day Halloween’ and I to him ‘I promise to keep your glass full of whiskey and your heart full of joy’. Our priest, Michal, was amazing. He’s a whiskey drinker and loves yoga, a true hippy at heart. And a lot of our guests cried so that made us happy.”

Gothic Wedding in Prague

Alexander and Maria had a destination elopement, just the two of them, in Prague. They then stayed on afterwards for their honeymoon.

“We thought for a long time about what our wedding should be like”, explained the bride. “We both love the same music and love going to concerts together, so we knew that would be a big influence. Music has connected us. Alexander is also very partial to old school computer games (and he’s a a programmer) so we wanted to connect these two things and add a bit of gothic glamour – after all, we were getting married in Prague!”

“We are from Russia and the format for a wedding in our country is for it to be very traditional”, she continued. “It’s very rare that you would run off, just the two of you and get married abroad. Luckily, our close family quietly embraced the idea, and we allowed ourselves to make the most important day for us in exactly the way we wanted. Since we were not constrained by tradition at all, we were able to use our imagination when it came to what we wore!”
