Laid Back Beach Elopement with A Harley Davidson Ride

With not a lot of time to plan, Nicole and Marty knew that they had to prioritise when it came to deciding on the most important elements of their day. Nicole told us, “The most important investments were the only two expenses and research we did – photographer and officiant. Everything else is small details that could change on a dime.”

With just a few friends and family joining them in person for the beach wedding in South Nags Head, North Carolina, the couple ensured the rest of their loved ones could take part in their day, starting a Facebook Live just before the small and personal ceremony.

Nicole explained, “We had no idea if the family across the country would be able to watch or hear with the ocean crashing in the background. But it worked! We were so happy that Rev. Jay made the ceremony special by tying in personal stories about each other.  He made us laugh the whole time yet in that moment when we said “I Do” it was only Marty and me – we had no idea that our littles were clearly bored and the source of entertainment to everyone watching online!” Their rings were custom made, with Marty’s holding special sentimental value – his late father’s gold ring is encased inside the white gold band.

Nicole and Marty wanted to include all the things they love in their wedding day. “We towed a Harley Davidson and a Pitt Boss Smoker to the Outer Banks. I wanted pictures on the Harley. He didn’t want to spend a fortune on BBQ when he makes it so well at home. So we did it, we took the things we love with us. The weather, the food, the outfits, the bike, the boots, the jacket, the destination were all absolutely what we wanted. My favourite part was sharing the time with the kids, my aunt and uncle who own the house where we stayed and where the ceremony was held.”

Rustic Meets Rock n Roll Woodland Barn Wedding with a Woodland Fairy Bride

Leslie and Dillon both love hiking and camping, so knew they wanted an outdoorsy wedding from the get-go. With the help of family friends’ pasture land, complete with idyllic stream and woodland, and a $10,000 budget, the couple set about creating the natural, rustic day of their dreams.

They saved a lot of money because of how generous their family and friends were. “All you have to do is ask for help and generally people are more than happy to do so,” said Leslie. “Working with people you know is also a huge benefit because its easy to get in touch with them and they really know what want. It can save so much in the end if you opt out of wedding planners and just ask friends to help you with the organisation and planning.”

Rockabilly Wedding with Hot Rods and Rock n Roll!

Rockabilly Wedding with Hot Rods and Rock n Roll! (44)

Sioux and Tommy wanted their wedding to reflect their combined attitudes and what their life is all about. Sioux is a pin up girl and Tommy loves hot rods and Rock n Roll. Their relationship is basically straight out of Pulp Fiction! Not surprisingly their wedding theme was a rockabilly, hot rod, Rock n Roll all out fun fest complete with cars, a candy table and a Harley Davidson set up next to the card table!

“Our ceremony was short but filled with references to Game of Thrones, fishing (Tommy is a fisherman!) and making sure I knew I had to obey (!)” explained Sioux. “At the beginning our 103lb Doberman Gunnar walked down the aisle with a sign that said, ‘Daddy here comes your girl’. Our officiant was a good friend of ours and really went the extra mile when writing up how to perform our ceremony. He even shot fireballs from his cuffs at our introduction! We aren’t religious so our officiant’s special touches really meant the world to us! The funny thing is we were BOTH late to our own wedding. We were both stressing over being tardy to the other but in the end neither of us realised the other was late!”
