Like most couples who wed last year, Kayla and William had to make some big changes in order to have a small pandemic-friendly wedding. They were originally planning a big, country club wedding for August, which has now been postponed to 2021. However as the pair have lived apart for 4 1/2 years of their five year relationship (the groom lived in Ohio and the bride in New York), they just wanted to be married already. Their kiss after the ceremony was the first time they had kissed in over 200 days!

Lexi and Tom chose Islington Town Hall and Green Rooms, a local bar/ hotel, as the locations for their November 2021 wedding. It was important to them both that the day was as stress-free and fun as possible so they decided to ignore the traditional timeline and do an evening-only wedding with their ceremony at 5pm. They got ready together at home with their mates, wore coordinating pink outfits and matching Adidas sneakers, walked down the aisle to KC & Jojo and had a reading from Fleabag.

Gema and Matt's original wedding was June 7th, on their five year anniversary, for which they'd planned to wed in New York City, honeymoon in Kuala Lumpur and Bali and then have a big pub reception back home afterwards. It was due to cost them £25k but when Covid scrapped those plans they took the opportunity to re-evaluate everything. Although they still plan to have another big wedding next year, they really didn't want to have to wait a whole year to be legally husband and wife.

With a budget if $5,000, Andrea and Stacey - who met online in 2018 - planned a completely DIY, June wedding in their own back garden. Both in their 50s and both having been married before, they wanted their wedding to feature all things and people they love. They had just nine guests, which included their three grown up children, a bocce tournament, a homemade taco bar and great scotch whiskey bought from a previous trip to Scotland.

As parents themselves, Arron and Casey based their wedding around how they felt when they took their kids to other peoples weddings. “I wanted everyone to feel comfortable,” the bride explained. “It didn’t matter to us if children were running around crazy, in fact we put everything into making it the sort of atmosphere that our friends and family would want to bring their children along to.”

Elizabeth and Nicholas embraced their wedding being just days after Halloween, on November 3rd, by leaning into a spooky theme. They had a super intimate ceremony with just 10 guests on the stairs of the Dane Estate just outside of Boston, followed by a reception with under 100 guests, Elizabeth wore her mother's wedding gown which her mum altered into a tea length dress that was more her style. Her veil was even made from left over lace from the original dress.

Living and working in London but both originally from up north, Fiona and Jack, who met when they both auditioned for the same band at uni (the band is still going and they have been making and releasing music together for their entire relationship!) planned a retro inspired wedding in Whitby. It's a place they have spent a lot of time in with family over the years so it was a very sentimental place for them to tie the knot. The autumn day started with a ceremony at Whitby registry office before a walk down to the seafront to play on to 2p arcade games and have their photos taken. The reception was then held at a recently reopened old church centre which they decorated and made their own.

When planning their August wedding, Hannah and Anthony decided they wanted to play up to the Great British summertime as well as their love of retro flair. The bride's step-mother made bunting, they printed seaside photographs of family members to decorate the venue and their cake was made to look like a sandcastle - complete with two crabs as a cake topper! On the tables they placed photographs of their dog, Wally, with seaside themed props. Even their rings were on theme - they were wooden rings by Hoot Cornwall, made using sand from Thorpeness beach.

Bryony said she always wanted to get married on their anniversary, so when she and James got engaged (on their 4th anniversary) and she realised that not only did their 6th anniversary fall on a Saturday but the date was 22/02/2020, it was settled! They opted for a celestial theme very early on and as shes not a fan of flowers, they didn't have any! Instead of floral bouquets and buttonholes, she made star and moon ones out of glittery card (which cost lest than £50 in materials!) She also made their cake and place names. Her dad made the moon photo backdrop and her mum made her iridescent sequined skirt using a YouTube tutorial!

Brendan and Cheyenne come from Reno, Nevada which, by their own admission, is known for it’s super-speedy drive thru weddings and wild nightlife. “This didn’t really fit us,” explained Cheyenne. “We wanted something small and intimate, and we wanted to take our time and make it special in our own way. We love to travel together, and I've always been totally drawn to the ocean, so we decided on Hawaii.”
