Artistic DIY Nashville Farm Wedding with a $3000 Budget

Lovebirds since just after high school, Gabi and Jacob, also known as Stinky and Barnes, married at home on Little Belly Farm in the coolest most laidback ceremony that shows what might happen if an art gallery met a music festival. There was tons of DIY done by their friends – even down to having their guests bring their own food and booze. Because of this generosity, the day only cos the couple $3,000. Their friends loved that it was more like a big party where the couple happened to be getting married rather than a straight-up formal wedding too!

Gabi described their wedding as artistic and bright. “The inspiration was really just our lives and the people we surround ourselves with every day. Always thinking we’d elope, we decided why wouldn’t we just throw a party with our closest friends and family? Instead of a typical ‘Pinterest’ wedding, where nothing really looked like ‘us’, we wanted it to really reflect us as a couple. We live on a farm, in a refurbished school bus, and I’m a sign painter in Nashville. My studio space is alongside amazingly talented artists I get to call friends, and the wedding wouldn’t have been the same without them. And my childhood best friend happens to be an amazing photographer, and she ventured up to capture the evening.”

Modern Community Art Wedding in Savannah

Artists Stephanie and Nick wanted a modern wedding that was influenced by their love of art and the community. The couple live in New York, but were marred in Savannah. They hired wedding planners Ivory & Beau to make sure the day went off without a hitch.

“Having wedding planners was a pretty crucial expense for us as we were planning a Savannah wedding from NYC and have really crazy schedules ourselves being freelance artists”, Stephanie began. “They helped keep us on schedule and roughly close to our budget ha! Plus they let us be creative and didn’t shoehorn us into a wedding style we didn’t want which can be difficult in the wedding industry where every vendor tries to push you into what THEY think you want.”

The day was held at Eden Village Church in Savannah, GA. They loved that it was a church, but not a traditional wedding venue. “The church building is actually in an old motor factory. I believe we were only the 3rd wedding to ever take place there. Also a good friend of ours built the wooden altar at the church, which was very special for us as well.”

The bride designed her own dress with help from her friend, Kourtney Wilson. She wanted to feel like herself and that meant nothing too girly. “I always knew I wanted to design my own dress but the possibilities were endless. As an androgynous girl wedding dresses have never felt like my style, so we decided to bring menswear elements into the dress. A high collar and my favourite part, suspenders in the back, all with a super form fitted bodice. If you’ve got it flaunt it, especially on your wedding day. I also made my own headpiece.”

Music and Art Inspired Brazilian Wedding with a Flash Mob!

Music and Art Inspired Brazilian Wedding with a Flash Mob! (17)

Mary and Caio lived next door to each other for twelve years before they had their first date! For their wedding they brought together everything they love; art, music, friends, family, décor and vintage. They had an art gallery of Mary’s paintings, an old Volkswagen in the fields, five bands (which had the groom playing in all of them!), friends leading their ceremony, craft beer, décor items from their house… and they partied for nine hours straight!

“I’m a painter, just like my father and my grandfather,” began Mary, “so in the long corridor at the main entrance of our wedding venue, we hung up more than 40 paintings and turned it into an art gallery. We wanted the first impression people had of our wedding to be related to art and for them to get to know more about my family heritage. We also had 14 paintings inside the main dancing hall.”
