Do you love Disney but in a dark, alt way more than a girly fairytale way? Then you’re going to love this gothic-meets–Beauty and the Beast inspired wedding shoot. Although it wasn’t a real wedding, there are so many creative ideas you could steal for your own. Think: moody candlelight, corseted gowns, blood-red roses, gilded mirrors, dripping wax, and that perfectly haunting mix of romance and rebellion.

Organised by hair and makeup artist Sira Rose in partnership with a team of UK-based suppliers, the shoot was all about freedom. “I’ve always loved Disney ever since I was a child,” Sira said, “but as an alternative gothic makeup artist I always wanted to recreate these fairytales with a darker, moodier aesthetic.” The theme brought that vision to life through layered textures, shadowy tones, and theatrical details.

“The shoot is a celebration of dark romance, opulence, and individuality,” Sira continued “It’s inspired by the timeless fairytale but reimagined with a gothic edge.” The result was a cinematic fusion of moody florals, ornate fashion, and rich, decadent styling. Everything was designed to transport you into a world where fantasy and reality collide, and where couples can see what it looks like to embrace both magic and melancholy in equal measure.

The table was drenched in candlelight and dark florals, the fashion leaned toward baroque silhouettes, and every detail felt intentionally imperfect. She explained, “We wanted to capture that balance of dark romance and timeless elegance, rich textures, moody tones, and a sense of enchantment that feels both ethereal and dramatic. The goal was to celebrate beauty in a way that feels bold, alternative, and deeply romantic, while staying true to the magic of a storybook setting.”

“The wedding industry can sometimes feel very rigid, with a lot of focus on trends, perfection, and ‘rules’ about what a wedding should look like. Navigating it as someone who wants to celebrate individuality and alternative styles can be challenging, but it’s also incredibly rewarding. Shoots like this show that there’s space for creativity, boldness, and inclusivity. It’s about giving people permission to see beauty in unconventional ways.”
