One Love: An Inspirational Wedding Show for Gay & Lesbian Couples

Although times they are a-changing, gay and lesbian couples have been long overlooked in the wedding industry. While there are many amazing wedding suppliers that cater for and love to work with same-sex couples, there has yet to be a really cool, all inclusive wedding event that all engaged couples – no matter their preferences – can go to and feel comfortable and accepted. Sure, there have been a few magazines and events dedicated to gay weddings, but (and I hate to say it) but most of the ones I’ve seen have been slightly cheesy and erring on the side of tacky.

So as you can imagine I whooped with glee when my friend Becky of the Most Curious Wedding Fair told me she was organising a cool, stylish and edgy wedding fair for gay and lesbian couples alongside Sara Smyth of Ruby+Diva bridal boutique. Both of these babes know what’s up when it comes to fashion-forward, edgy and achingly cool wedding stuff and I couldn’t think of anyone better qualified to tackle this uncharted territory.

If you’ve been desperately hoping for an LGBT friendly wedding show that accepts everyone, then look no further. Taking place The Hospital Club in Covent Garden on the 19th and 20th October, The One Love Wedding Show boasts some of the best wedding suppliers in the UK, all of which love to work with unique, gay and lesbian couples… and I’m going to be there too!

Alongside Sophie of Crown and Glory we’ll be there selling our headpieces, and we even have an exclusive design in store which will only be available to buy at this show! You’ll just have to come along to see it (hint: rainbow gems!)

“This show is a celebration of the end of a long time of struggle for same sex relationships and their public acknowledgement”, writes Becky. “As well as ultra cool design and trend led high-end suppliers there will be fashion happenings and fun entertainment throughout the day. The other key criteria for our supplier selection is that they 100% support gay marriage, we are hoping that they can offer a specific product or service to same-sex couples but it is their support and understanding which is the only must. Alongside their total awesomeness of course.”

The show will play host to SEVENTY amazing exhibitors. You can fawn over the full list at the One Love website. Tickets cost just £5 when bought in advance or £10 if you’d like to come to the VIP press event on the 19th.

I’ll see you there!
