An Alice vs Evil Queen Bridal Fashion Shoot: Beyond Burlesque
April 9, 2012
This Alice vs evil queen shoot took place on Hampstead Heath in London. The shoot was set up to promote the new collection of wedding dresses by
Beyond Burlesque. The collection has a range of both sweet white and ivory gowns as well as more dramatic dark coloured pieces, hence the Alice vs evil queen/good vs evil theme of the shoot.
Thank you to Belinda at Beyond Burlesque and the whole team behind this shoot for sharing it with us today.

The second Photography Farm (remember the first one which I took part in?) took place earlier this month. The subject was off-camera flash and organiser Lisa Devlin invited Adam Bronkhorst of Viva Photography, an expert in the field, to teach the latest 'farmers' all about the techniques.
Mad Hatter’s Tea Party at The Fancy Dress Lodge
July 28, 2012
When artist Paula Shepherd, owner of The Fancy Dress Lodge (!!) in Winslow, decided to open her home as a wedding venue, she knew that a photo shoot to celebrate was in order. With the help of accessories designer Aria Sandis from A Little Bit Of Sparkle, she got to planning a shoot quirky enough to suit the eclectic space. "How about a Mad Hatter's Tea Party with a slightly insane twist?" they thought.
Spooky ‘Three Brides’ Wedding Editorial
January 12, 2014
It's not often that I feature styled wedding shoots these days, quite simply because I have so many incredible real weddings to share with you! However when photographer Gary of Marshal Gray sent over this 'three brides' editorial that he shot at Belt Craft Studios, I had to bend my rule. I love the style of this session, especially how odd and slightly creepy it all is. This is certainly not something I see very often in wedding photography.

Shot in the Gothic paradise of Whitby, North Yorkshire (they have a famous twice yearly gothic weekend festival) photographer Michelle of SilverStar Photographic had long wanted to shoot here. However her initial idea didn't become a full blown vision until she met Michelle from Victorian Gothic Clothing.
Gothic Butterfly Inspiration

"Bridal shoots don't have to be boring!" We've heard this all before but it's even better to see shoots illustrating that point don't you think?!
"I just loved this shoot", wedding photographer Kathryn Edwards told me of her shoot with Beth. "I wanted to give it a lonely isolated and fragile feel, with a dark edge."

A little bit fashiony, a little bit boudoir - this Steampunk themed photo shoot sent me weak at the knees! Inspired by Tim Burton, Alice in Wonderland, Sherlock Holmes, New Orleans and Dita Von Teese, photographer Kamila couldn't wait to put together a shoot like this.
Colourful Goth Bridal Shoot
March 16, 2014
I love this shoot because it shows that goth doesn't always have to be black, black and more black. A splash of colour here and there can really work - yes, a colourful goth wedding is totally possible!
Clockwork Heart & Eyelash Dream: A Victorian Steampunk Shoot
June 26, 2012
Time travel. Steampunk. Victoriana. Turn of the century industrialism. If you love any of these things then you're going to die over this shoot, sent over from Ireland by the fabulous Chemistry Photography.
"We put together this shoot with an amazing crew of 20 creatives including designer Alice Halliday (she's the glowing goddess who designed Florence Welch's infamous cape), Pearl & Godiva (styling genius and vintage hire guru), and rockstar make-up artist Kathryn O'Neill (she rocks the wedding world and all the Irish mags)", photographer Kait told me.
