A Private Residence Wedding: Ruby & Emmanuel
April 20, 2012
Ruby & Emmanuel’s sweet wedding took place on a private residence in Adelaide. The bride wore a 1930s vintage wedding gown with a vintage headpiece. Even her bridesmaids wore vintage dresses.
The couple locally sourced things where they could including the food their served and the flowers the used to decorate the marquee. The bride’s sister made all their stationery and paper goods. The wedding was a really personal and intimate affair. “Our focus was really just on our family,” the bride explained. “We handcrafted our wedding with, of course, some true vintage touches.”
Beautiful. Thank you to Ruby & Emmanuel and photographer Scout for sharing this gorgeous day with us.

Emotional DIY Kawaii Wedding: Talia & Zac

Isn't it funny when two of your worlds collide? I've been stalking following Talia on Instagram for ages (I love love love her cute kawaii style!) and so when I received their wedding photographs from Eric Roland I literally jumped up and down with glee! I knew this wedding was going to be awesome from the few sneaks I'd seen on her feed but I was little prepared for this level of amazement...

A Quirky New South Wales Wedding: Nat & Michael
June 27, 2012
The New South Wales wedding of Nat & Michael was full of quirky touches - starting with the bride's awesome pink & blue locks and 1930s wedding dress of course!
"We really wanted to keep our wedding cool, calm and casual without missing out of a bit of glam and class!" the bride told me. "We stuck with the motto 'Our day, our way' and tried to make sure that it was just a bunch of fun for everyone. I was the boss of planning, but that didn't mean that Michael wasn't represented- I've been to plenty of weddings where it feels like the groom didn't get his say and we talked everything over and came to a consensus. Really the whole planning process was a breeze because I stayed really calm about everything and just let things happen naturally. There was only one 'freak out' moment in the whole year and a half we were engaged and that was about the boy's suits, they very nearly ended up without any because we had a hard time finding something that suited everyone. Everything just fell in to place, and I think it was because we didn't get our heart too set on anything and just went with the flow."
Kamela & Brian’s Organic, Vintage, Back Garden wedding
September 13, 2010
Oh yes! I am so excited by Kamela & Brian's vintage/eco/organic/outdoor wedding. The couple made wedding choices that were totally perfect for them and ignored a lot of the usual wedding industry rubbish. They got married at their Grandparent's house in Vancouver and had the super personal reception in their back garden.
Colourful, Reused and Kitsch Wedding in Tasmania: Lindsey & Ned
October 8, 2014
Lindsey and Ned were married in Tasmania, at the bride's parent's farm. overlooking the ocean. Their reception was at Stanley Town Hall. "Getting married on top of a hill overlooking the ocean (where the next landmass is South America!) and utilising whatever venue we could find locally was a pretty unique experience", began the bride. "A weather proof reception venue was key to us as we can't stand a flapping marquee on a windy, crappy night which is so often the case in Tassie. We were so lucky that the only place suitable was a recently restored, beautifully painted Art Deco hall! And it was only $800 to hire for four days!"

Powerful Mt Warning Wedding, 100 Bridesmaids & Flower Crowns for all: Polly & Jamie
June 10, 2013
People often ask me if I ever get bored of blogging about weddings. I can see why because usually once you've been doing something - anything - for as long as I have been doing this, it's natural to think that you might start to become a little 'over' it. So while I'm not going to pretend that I'm always thrilled, overjoyed and amazed by every wedding that graces my inbox, I can safely say that I am probably as far from 'over' this job as I could be... especially when I get sent images like Polly and Jamie's wedding to drool over.
