Cherish the Dress
March 20, 2010
This beautiful British bride had a gorgeous ‘Cherish the Dress’ session with her friend and photographer
Caro Hutchings. “Jemma got married two years ago and wanted some images of her dress and detail shots to print out and put up in her new house.” Caro told me in her email. “We had loads of fun with props and made a feature of the amazing hair pieces we found – especially the peacock feather piece which we fell in love with from ebay. Her dress was by Linea Raffaelli and we had Robina’s of Marlow doing her hair and supplying the rest of the hair accessories. The location of the shoot was an amazing house in Bourne End, Bucks known as ‘The Oak House’ which has just been finished. The shoot was actually the day before Valentines day which was very fitting for our romantic heart theme and got us all in the valentines mood.”
Thanks to Caro for sharing this glamorous girlie with us today

A Vintage Shoot with Lucy Ledger Designs
August 23, 2010
If you're a regular reader of Rock n Roll Bride I'm sure you'll already be aware of the amazing Emma Case (she shot the image that I'm currently using as my blog header/my 'Punk Rock n Roll Bride' shoot) and Lucy Ledger Designs. Lucy makes gorgeously creative vintage-inspired stationary (I've also been lucky enough to feature her before as well as meet her in actual real life!) After Lucy saw Emma's work on Rock n Roll Bride she got in touch asking if they could get together to do a promotional shoot for her vintage stationary company. Hello!? Match made in vintage Rock n Roll heaven or what!?
A Vintage Great British Seaside Shoot
April 7, 2011
This beautiful and creative photo shoot was put together by the ladies behind Dottie Creations and Dottie Photography. It was inspired by their love of the great British seaside. Mandy & Zoe, the ladies behind both companies, styled, crafted and photographed the whole shoot themselves. They made all the awesome signage, the beautiful table decorations and the even the biscuits.

Alternative Asian Bridal Shoot
October 6, 2012
We don't get to see a whole lot of alternative Asian wedding inspiration, so I was thrilled when I received this bridal shoot with an edge from School of Rock graduate Rabbia Ali Shah from the Asian Wedding Ideas blog.
"Seeing the same Asian bridal images can start to get a little repetitive", wrote Rabbia, "and the idea of something a little edgier is one that I had been thinking about for a while. Getting people on board wasn't the easiest of task but getting in touch with wedding photographer Priti Shikotra, changed all that. She had similar thoughts about a shoot."
Chi Chi Revolver’s Tattooed Bridal Shoot
March 31, 2011
"I was really inspired reading the winning entry to your Knot Couture dress competition recently," photographer Bethan of Haywood Jones Photography told me. "It was hard to picture how it would feel to be made so uncomfortable in a shop who were clearly disapproving of you, thinking we live in a properly modern society (!) until it happened to me last weekend (not because I have beautiful body art sadly, but much more because I was dressed a bit scruffily and went into a very posh art shop. They actually got another member of security to stand in the shop while me and my friend walked around!!) It suddenly became clear that you really can't judge a book by its cover and that even though the *mainstream* wedding industry is becoming more accepting of the *alternative* side of peoples wedding creativity and gorgeousness, there are still many blinkered people out there who wont look past stereotypes and make you feel less than worthy of their attention."
Eco-Conscious & Locally Sourced DIY Wedding: Clare & Aslam
March 15, 2013
Not wanting to do things by halves, Clare & Aslam had three weddings. The firs two were Muslim celebrations, and this one was their western wedding. Having three whole weddings to plan, the couple kept this event low key and budget friendly. They DIYed a lot and spent just £5000 on the day. "We tried to do everything second hand or hand made as I hate waste and am a big environmentalist", Clare explained. The wedding was held at Hyde Barn in the Cotswolds.
Budget Friendly Winter Wedding: Abbie & Tristen
December 31, 2013
Abbie and Tristen were married at the iconic The George Hotel in Rye. They had a beautiful and alternative wedding, but one that didn't break the bank. As the venue was so gorgeous already that they didn't need to spend a fortune decorating it, a few stings of bunting and some homemade paper flowers and place names was just enough.

When Ayeisha and Tom started planning their May 2022 wedding, they knew they wanted it to reflect their values. They spend a lot of their free time in nature, are both vegan and the environment is super important to them, so these for the main references for the day,
