The Corpse Bride
November 4, 2009
With Halloween falling on a Saturday this year and it being a distinctly unconventional theme for a wedding, I have not at all been surprised to receive a number of spooky themed weddings that took place last weekend. I’m kicking today off with Colinne & Shane’s wedding. Some of my favourite details include Colinne’s choice of converse trainers under her dress plus her
black diamond engagement ring, the lucky rabbit’s foot that accompanied her bouquet and acted as her ‘something old’. The couple even used the vows from The Corpse Bride as their own!
With this hand,
I will lift your sorrows.
Your cup will never empty,
For I will be your wine.
With this candle,
I will light your way in darkness.
With this ring,
I ask you to be mine
Thank you to Elizabeth for sharing these

A Homemade Festival Wedding: Anna & Jonny
July 6, 2012
"Although there were some traditional elements to our wedding, we wanted to keep the day as informal as possible," began newlywed Anna. "We wanted a traditional wedding ceremony, but for the reception we just wanted to create a space for our friends and family to enjoy themselves. We had music all day, put out games and a fancy dress box, and left a jar of moustaches on the bar. The fancy dress box was well-used and our wedding became the chaotic festival-party we always wanted!"

They were married in Birmingham, with their ceremony at St Johns church and their reception at Hamstead Social Club. The church setting also offered the most perfect place for their spooky couple portraits - a graveyard!

It may be Summer in the UK right now but it's sure feeling a lot more like autumn at the moment. Where on Earth is the sunshine?! A Fancy Dress Halloween Wedding: Oddd & Elle
October 2, 2012
So we're in to October already so you know what that means... Halloween! And for Oddd & Elle, despite being married in August, their favourite holiday was the obvious choice of theme for their epic wedding.
"Anyone who knows us knew that our wedding was going to be a little different, as we've always done things our own way", began the groom. "After a chance meeting when we were both invited last minute to a day out, we have been inseparable, We got engaged on our first Christmas day in our first home and we set our wedding date for our 9 year anniversary on Friday 17th August 2012."
Vintage Victorian Wedding on Halloween
August 23, 2016
Scott and Hayley were married on Halloween but they didn't want to make the obvious choice to have a spooky themed wedding. Instead they were inspired by vintage pieces (the bride wore a dress from the 1940s), and Victoriana with a Rock n Roll twist. Of course there were a few autumnal touches such as pumpkins on the tables, but overall it was just a reflection of everything they love.
