Under the Sea – An Aquarium Wedding

I may not have seen anything so gloroius in a long time. This venue is STUNNING. What a unusual and spectacular place for a wedding.

Jen & Lou chose Adventure Aquarium to play host to their wedding reception. With the sea life swimming all around them all evening, teamed with their subtle beach theme, the scene was most certainly set for a very different wedding. Jen also chose a very floaty/flowing gown by Kleinfeld Bridal whcih almost looked like crashing waves around her. A-mazing!

Vintage, Eclectic & Fun – Your Style, Your Way

I love a good promotional photo shoot (we all know that don’t we!) I think they are not only really good fun, but really amazing tools to showcase what you really can do – and therefore hopefully get the clients that you want. Ohio photographer Nikita Gross decided to set up this shoot to show the world what she loves to shoot – kick ass, alternative couples of course! The ‘bride’ Ashley, who owns Pinnokios Salon in Northside, did her own hair and makeup. She and her ‘groom’ Jeremy raided their own closets for these vintage and one-off pieces and the results are just so fun and eclectic. Jeremy’s American Apparel boots and vintage jacket are particularly sexy! I love.

Eeek….look at all these tattoos too!

It’s Our Wedding, Let’s P.A.R.T.Y Hard!

Wow wow wow. Kelly & Sean sure knew how to rock a wedding! From an emotional ceremony, to a family-orientated reception to a crazy-fun party, the whole day looks like an utter blast! “The one thing that we dislike about weddings is how they are all alike” they told me. “We understand its tradition and that’s how its supposed to be done, but why? why is there a set pattern?  We wanted our wedding to be personal to us. We wanted to start our own traditions and do things unique to our style. The theme of our wedding was basically “Things We Love” and  it ended up being the perfect reflection of us. We did whatever we wanted and nixed things we disliked. we strived to make it intimate and personal. Our wedding was hands down the best day of our lives, we had everything we loved, surrounded by everyone we love and made sure to marry the heck outta the one we loved!”

The wedding too place at The Allan House. They had a short and sweet ceremony outside which was full of touching moments. The groom’s grandfather was a groomsman! He really relieved the tension during the ceremony when he whistled at the bride as she walked down the aisle…what a lovely idea to involve such a special member of the family in the wedding in this way.

On the River Bed…

When I first saw these I was like “erm…is that a bed in a river?!” I thought it surely must have been some post production/photo shop trick but no, they actually lugged about 300lb of bed 3/4 of a mile down to a river to get these shots!

“Bottom line-it. was. all. totally. absolutely. worth. it. I’m really pushing my approach and style as an effort to redefine expectations of photography” photographer Hollie told me. “Why shouldn’t my clients be pampered during their shoot and have a photographer who will create an environment of repose-it is after all, about them. I’m just so grateful for Team Lytlefoto and for having adventurous, free-spirited clients who believe in
my crazy ideas.”

Tattoos, Soul & an Awesome Pink Bicycle

Simple, sweet, tattooed Nashville lovelies. I am crazy in love with the pink bike (erm…of course) the vintage records (another trend I’m not yet tired of) and the lake side setting. That water looks incredible and it goes without saying that Rennie & Joe are one hell of a cool couple. LOVE!

I am already looking forward to seeing the results of their Septemeber wedding after Rennie told me, “We have known each other for 19 years (we met at age 11 and were each other’s first kiss), we felt that our engagement photos should showcase the life we’ve built together. We opted to have a simple shoot at our home rather than a ‘location shoot’. Our wedding will be this September and we will feature a 1960’s theme – rock n’ roll, soul, dresses from 1960’s Vogue patterns and vintage motorcycles (Joe has restored a 1973 Norton Commando)”

Walking on Water

You are going to love Soumya & Anil’s photo shoot. Not only is Soumya wearing some of the most gorgeous dresses, like ever, but the backdrop and setting – in particular the way they are reflected in the water, is nothing short of spectacular. Anil is really into working on cars so they had to get that into the shoot too and the contrast between the two themes works perfectly.
