It’s no secret that we love a Vegas wedding here at Rock n Roll Bride. We’ve been lucky enough to shoot in Las Vegas multiple times over the last few years, so without blowing our own trumpet too much, it’s fair to say we’re pretty clued up on how to do a Vegas wedding well.
Vegas is easy, but that doesn’t mean it’s effortless. It’s fast-paced, hot, and packed with options that can either elevate your day or make it feel chaotic and rushed if you don’t know what you’re walking into. If we were running off to Vegas to get married in 2026, here’s what we’d want to know before we got there.
Hire a Wedding Planner
First up, if you’re travelling from overseas, hiring an elopement company or a local wedding planner will make your life infinitely easier. They plan everything from the ground up, so all you really have to do is show up. They know which venues are worth it, which photographers actually understand Vegas light, and how to get the most out of your time in the city without wasting it. They also handle the logistics that can feel overwhelming when you’re planning from another city or country.
Some of our favourites are Rock N Romance Elopements, Hellbent Hitchings, P3 Events and Electric Sugar Elopements.

Choosing a Chapel
If you’re opting for a chapel ceremony, it’s important to understand the pace. Vegas chapels get through a lot of weddings every single day, especially on popular dates. The ceremonies are short, efficient and very much wham bam thank you, ma’am! That’s not a bad thing, it’s part of the charm. You just need to go in with the right expectations.
Some of our go-to chapels are The Little White Chapel, Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel, That Chapel Downtown and, of course, Sure Thing and their sister chapel located just two doors down, Sure Thing Too.
Unexpected Locations
That said, you don’t have to get married in a chapel at all. One of the best things about Vegas is that you can get married pretty much anywhere. Yes, even Taco Bell!
If you want something more unexpected, this is where a planner really earns their keep. Some of our favourite non-traditional spots include Cactus Joe’s, The Punk Rock Museum, Velveteen Rabbit and The Neon Museum. If you’re happy to head a little outside the city, Seven Magic Mountains, Red Rock Canyon and the Valley of Fire are all incredible options.

Getting your Marriage Licence
But before any of that happens, you will need to get your marriage licence. Despite the Sin City nickname, there are still laws you need to follow to ensure your marriage is legal.
You’ll need an approved licence from the Clark County Marriage License Bureau. The licence costs $102 and the process is refreshingly straightforward. First, fill out the pre-application form online via the Clark County Nevada website. Once you arrive in Vegas and before your wedding date, you and your partner need to visit the Marriage License Bureau in person. It’s open seven days a week from 8am until midnight. You’ll both need to bring valid ID, such as a passport or driver’s licence.
Your paperwork will be checked and, once approved, you’ll be given your marriage licence to pass on to your officiant. That’s it!
Whatever the Weather
Nevada is know for having pretty perfect weather, but unlike in the UK where you might want to plan around the rain, in Vegas what you really need to consider is how intense the sun and heat may be!
Avoid the middle of the day in the summer, but honestly, getting married in Vegas in peak summer heat is not a great idea generally! Unless you fancy squinting through your photos or risking heat exhaustion, it’s best avoided. Spring, particularly March and April, and autumn from September to November are ideal. It also gets darker earlier too, which means you can realistically get golden hour photos around 4–5pm and still have time for evening shots with all the neon lights doing their thing.

If you’re looking for more Vegas inspiration for your big or small day, there are literally thousands of real wedding features on our website to dive into. And be sure to pick up a copy of our latest print issue, which features our Off Duty Showgirl editorial shot with Rock N Romance Elopements. The behind-the-scenes images from that shoot are what you’re seeing alongside this article.
Vegas is one of the easiest places in the world to get married. And done right, it is also definitely one of the very best.
