Nicole, from the UK, and Tanner, from the US, planned their wedding in just three weeks. Nicole explained, “Tanner turned around to me and said ‘when do we have two days off together next?’ I looked at our schedules and said April 26th, why? He said, let’s get married then!” From there, they built the day entirely around themselves, keeping the decisions personal and as uncomplicated as possible.

They skipped traditional rules. Their outfits mixed high street clothing, cowboy boots and Nike trainers. The couple had didn’t see the venue until the day itself, booking it just three days before. While Nicole got ready, Tanner and the officiant chose the ceremony spot. The vows were kept simple, focusing instead on a different kind of gesture: they tattooed each other. Nicole gave Tanner a small cloud and he inked a little bean on her.
The reception followed the same do-it-yourself approach. They brought in a Costco haul to build their own charcuterie board and played music through speakers. Food and flowers were budget-friendly, with blooms gifted by a friend from The Farm and Fiddle.

They didn’t dwell on what they didn’t have, except maybe more time to order Nicole’s first-choice dress. “The dress I really wanted needed 8–10 weeks for ordering and shipping. I also wish some of my family could have come over from England. Other that that, we wouldn’t have changed a thing.”
For Nicole, the best part of the day was… all of it! “It was actually very stress free planning it in 3 weeks and only caring about what we wanted!” she concluded. “Our advice for others would be just say ‘fuck it’ and do what you want!”
