Aimee and Jon left Birmingham to get married in the Nevada desert. The bride loved the idea of Vegas, the groom wanted something outdoors or in the mountains, so as soon as they found out about the little chapel at Eldorado Canyon, they knew it would be the best of both worlds.

Eldorado Canyon gave them the intimacy they wanted, but they still ended the day in true Vegas fashion. After the ceremony they changed outfits and headed to the Strip and Downtown to celebrate.

They worked with Electric Sugar Elopements who organised everything for them – the location, the officiant, the flowers, the photographer… all they had to do was book their flights and hotel and show up! “Planning was basically non-existent to us!” Aimee said. “We just said the venue, date and time we would like and they did all the hard work and handled everything. They were so so much fun and we felt like we’d known them for years not just an hour! You would be crazy not to book them!”

Their biggest expense was travel and accommodation to get from the UK to the US. But they tied it directly to something they also really wanted to do – going to the When We Were Young festival as a mini-moon.

Eloping saved them a ton of money, and Aimee’s dress was only £77 from ASOS. They didn’t feel the need to add any extras or do anything differently. But they didn’t choose to elope because of the money or the stress, they chose it because they liked the idea of it just being the two of them.

“Even though you want to make your family and friends happy, this is all your day!” Aimee concluded. “We knew that if we had a big ‘normal’ wedding, we’d be so busy entertaining guests that we’d forget about each other! If your friends and family truly love you, they’ll be happy for you regardless. So, do exactly what makes you happy, it’s your life and your wedding. We cannot wait to be old and look back at the photos and videos and feel as good about our decisions as we do now. It was so personal, so different and so us.”
