This shoot, organised The Capture Workshop, was all about blending vintage Vegas glam with raw desert beauty. while this wasn’t a real wedding, this shoot was designed to challenge expectations, especially around what men are ‘supposed’ to wear when they get married.

“Kyle and Alex turned an early morning in the ghost town into a stunning fashion narrative that feels both timeless and unforgettable”, photographer Cat Dossett writes. ” I wanted to use florals in a unique way paired with the colourful suits, and once we came up with the shoulder pads, the cape felt like a perfect pairing. It came together so naturally after we found the fabric, reminiscent of The Flamingo in nearby downtown Las Vegas. Each piece was cut out individually to create that cape and it adds the perfect flair, swirling amongst the cacti and dust. Alex and Kyle also read short sweet vows in a handmade notebook, paired with an invite that replicated some of the stained glass found in the ghost town.”

The scene felt part old Vegas, part queer fairytale, part desert daydream. The shoot shows that you don’t have to ask for permission to be yourselves when you get married. Instead, it shows what’s possible. Men can wear flowers. Men can wear capes. Men can look soft, powerful, expressive, romantic – all at the same time. “Take your time finding what feels right for you and creating a vision that is truly your own,” Cat continued. “You don’t need a lot of details when the details have meaning.”
For anyone planning a wedding, especially couples who don’t always see themselves reflected in mainstream imagery, this is a reminder. The rules are optional. Your identity is not.
