Behind the Scenes of the Rock n Roll Bride Rebrand: Why We Did This

May 2, 2025

When Rock n Roll Bride first launched, it wasn’t just about weddings – it was about rebellion. It was about creating a space where love didn’t come with rules or limits. It was about standing against what we didn’t like when we planned our own wedding (way back in 2007!) – the elitism, the unnecessary expense, the cookie cutter way of just doing things because someone says you “have to”.

Over the years, we’ve broken traditions, championed individuality, and built an incredible community of weirdos, outsiders, and people who felt the same.

But over time, something started to feel… off.

While our mission stayed strong, we realised our outside wasn’t fully reflecting our inside anymore. Our branding felt too safe. Too polished. Too muted. That’s just not who we are and certainly not who you are.

It was time our visual identity caught up.

The Vision: Edgier. Punkier. Weirder. More “Us”.

We wanted the new Rock n Roll Bride to feel stronger, louder and more real. We wanted to lean into a more punk rock aesthetic with edgier typography, rawer textures, bolder colours and photo styling that felt more rebellious.

Why Now?

Because the world has changed and so have we.

In a time when so many parts of the wedding industry are playing it safe, following trends, and chasing Pinterest perfection, we knew it was more important than ever to stand even louder for inclusivity, diversity and individuality.

Last month at New York and Barcelona Bridal Weeks, there was a very noticeable lack of plus-size or in any way diverse model representation. The runways felt repetitive. Safe. Predictable. Are brands playing it cautious because of the economy? Are couples leaning into “trad wife” aesthetics because it feels secure in uncertain times? Maybe. But what we’re seeing is a wave of Stepford sameness rolling through the wedding industry… and it’s just not what we stand for.

We don’t want to promote that weddings should all look and be the same.

We don’t want to share love stories that are over-filtered or created just to go viral.

We don’t want to encourage you to spend beyond your means, change who you are or feel like you don’t measure up.

This redesign isn’t just about looking cool, it’s about standing our ground. Weddings are for everyone. Love is love. Fat people get married too. Autistic people get married too. Disabled people deserve representation. Black, Asian and mixed-race couples should be showcased just as much as white ones. Whether your budget is tiny or massive, your wedding matters. Your story matters. You deserve to be seen and celebrated exactly as you are.

So, this rebrand isn’t just for us. It’s for all of you.
