Wooo Boxing Day! The traditional lie-down-all-day-and-eat-leftovers day. Is there anything good on the telly?
I hope you all had a glorious Christmas. We were at my parents’ house (as usual). My dad cooked, wine was drunk, Trivial Pursuit was played. It’s funny, as much as I might dislike traditional weddings I sure do love a traditional Christmas!
It may be a little quiet in blogland over the festive period, but if you’re anything like me you’re still going to need things to entertain you. So instead of indulging in yet another mince pie, why not cast your eyes back over some of the the best wedding DIYs of the year?
I’m no crafting expert, but DIY tutorials are one of the things I know my readers love, so I’m going to put at least one in every issue of my new magazine (issue 1 is in stores 8th January – put the date in your diary!) If I tried to create them myself I’d probably glue my eyelashes together though, so I need your help! If you’d like to see your name in print (EEK!) and create a DIY for the new magazine I’d love to hear from you . Just drop me an email with your idea and some sample photos of past projects and we can take it from there!

DIY Tutorial: Glitter Gel Manicure
Kat
March 28, 2014
I’m slightly obsessed with gel manicures. I find nothing more annoying than nail varnish that chips the first time I wear it, so I love that gels last up to 4 weeks and without damaging your nails underneath. However getting them done professionally all the time can be really blooming expensive. After realising what a dent in my bank balance my love affair was having, I decided to see if there was a DIY option. And so I uncovered a brand new obsession.

When it came to planning how to style my recent champagne party, I knew it would be the perfect opportunity to flex my creative muscles. Now I'm no expert, in fact I'm darn right rubbish at DIY projects, and I'm certainly not a professional stylist either. But I knew if I just kept things simple and threw glitter at it, it would probably work out in the end.

DIY Tutorial: Scratchcard Wedding Invitations
Kat
May 12, 2012
Hi Rock n Roll Bride readers! My name is Michelle and I am marrying Dan this summer in a garden in Scotland (where he proposed in fact!) and we are doing almost everything ourselves. Partly this is because we are trying to save money (more to spend on food and drinks!) and also because getting married is a great excuse to do all sorts of crafty things you wouldn't normally have budget to do! We made a stop-motion video for the save the date (so. much. fun.) but then wanted to send a physical postcard for the actual invite so people have something to keep. I came up with an idea for a scratch-off card - like a lottery ticket - with the prize being the details of our wedding! Dan got totally behind the idea and did most of the fiddly tasks (including cutting out almost a hundred little plastic hearts). We sent them out last week and our guests love them. I've put together a little tutorial for how to make the cards - they were lots of fun to make and came out looking quite professional-looking!
