Danielle & Richard wanted to go heritage vintage and a little bit girly for their wedding. The mid-summer celebration was held at the eclectically styled Moore and Moore Café with their ceremony at the Merv Cowan Reserve in Freemantle

“My favourite part of our wedding was seeing each other for the first time on the day at the ceremony”, began the bride. “I had started to feel like I really wanted to see Rich at the beginning of the day, while we were still getting ready, so by the time I came walking down the path to see him standing by the bridge waiting to greet me, I was genuinely ready to jump out of my skin to grab him! When I look at the photos of myself seeing him for the first time, I can’t believe my smile could be that big!”

“Rich pretty much just let me run wild with the theme”, she continued, “so it was quite girly. Our inspiration was fluffy colourful flowers, peonies, roses, lacy dresses, braided hair, snappy suits, luscious wedding cakes, champagne flowing and good tunes. I had so much fun creating the play lists for the various sections of the day. Most of all I wanted everyone to be relaxed and for it to be just like hanging out in your friend’s lounge room to celebrate an excellent day. We did finger food only so guests could move around the venue from outdoors, to indoors, to couches, to stools, to the dance floor. We wanted people to feel comfortable.”

“The venue we picked was a really economical choice”, she explained. “They allowed us to bring our own alcohol, which is unheard of, so we made massive savings there too. The liquor store who provided the drinks do this great deal where you order as much as you what but then you only actually pay for what you use. We also bought our own seating which were old school class room chairs. They were going really cheaply because the wooden surfaces were unfinished, but my mum spent weeks doing them up for us (and the family all helped set them up and pack them away before and after the ceremony). We also set up our own altar and desert bar and we reused the flowers from the ceremony at the reception. We are lucky to live really close to our wedding venue, so we walked home after the party, this cut our transport costs plus the walk home with me in my wedding dress and Rich in his snappy suit was fun.”

Danielle wore a beautiful wedding dress and veil by Aubrey Rose which she accessorised with diamonds! Her necklace and ring were from Quirici Jewellery. “My dress and the photography were our biggest expenses. We could not get what we wanted for any less and once we saw Nicolle’s photographs, we knew she was the only one we wanted. I had originally planned to wear a simple Alana Hill frock, but when I told Rich about my original plans for simple dress, he said ‘Well, I will be coming dressed as though I am getting married!’ so I decided that maybe I should get more dressed up! When I saw my dress in the shop I just knew it was the one. I just wanted to feel amazing on the day and I knew the one I chose would make me feel just that. The whole day was fabulous and I wouldn’t have changed a thing about it.”
