I knew I loved Ben & Joslyn’s Washington wedding as soon as I saw it. Never wanting to do what was expected of them, this couple wanted a wedding that was both sexy and glamorous but with small hints of tradition. “My style has never been typical so from the beginning I knew I wanted to do something fun and off the wall but at the same time mix it with traditional elements”, wrote Joslyn. “I absolutely NEVER wear white so to me it was kind of fun and rebellious to wear a fancy white gown. Also I did not want my bridesmaids to look boring and from the beginning I had a vision of them in sexy leopard print dresses and hot pink heels. My girls were pure glam and total bombshells! I would say our wedding theme was glam rock meets traditional. I definitely made a point of having our style shine through. The overall theme though was fun, fun, fun!”
The wedding was held at Lake Wilderness Lodge , in Maple Valley, WA. The venue had spectacular views of the lake whilst offering everything the couple needed all in one place. “I had a lot of DIY elements and decor for our wedding but my biggest feat was designing, printing, measuring, cutting, gluing, and assembling each invitation all on my own”, the bride continued. “It took weeks instead of days like I originally thought but they turned out totally personal and super amazing!”
Beautiful! Thank you to Ben & Joslyn and their wedding photographer Barbie Hull for sharing with us today.

Inspired by a 1960s cocktail hour, Dan and Liz wanted a glamorous day in an outdoor location. They chose Abloom Farm in Saukville, WI. The theme actually blended seamlessly with the space, resulting in a day reminiscent of Hugh Hefner's suave style and Quentin Tarantino's cinematic flair. The day was both elegant and relaxed, exactly what they wanted.

It's unusual for me to blog engagement sessions, but when I saw Francis & Mayone's (potentially NSFW!) I really could not resist. After sharing that, I hoped that their wedding might be as awesome (and that they'd send it to me too) and oh boy did they deliver! Glamorous and elegant, personal but spectacular, sexy but sophisticated, these guys sure know how the pull off a wedding in style!

Atmospheric Lake District Wedding: Helen & Andy

I was rather over-excited when I laid eyes on Helen and Andy's Lake District wedding, shot by the amazing Neil Douglas Photography. I mean what could be more incredible than getting wedding day portraits like these in a setting like that!? Hats off to the photographer of course, but also to the awesome couple for not being afraid to potentially get a little wet or muddy. I'd love to see more brave couples like this please, who's with me?
The wedding was held in Buttermere, with the ceremony in a local church and the reception in a tipi in Buttermere field. The couple didn't have a huge budget and opted to DIY and thrift a lot. Helen wore a dress which she bought off eBay for £100 and customised with her grandmother's vintage fur (a last minute edition due to the weather).

It feels weird to start a real wedding post with a disclaimer of sorts but this is just one of those weddings that I share with a small sense of trepidation. Without wanting to sound like anybody's mother, let's just remember that this is two people's actual wedding day and their way of expressing their love. I am under no disillusion that parts of the wedding may well divide opinion, but as always, let's keep the comments constructive and remember what Rock n Roll Bride is all about...

Isn't it funny when two of your worlds collide? I've been stalking following Talia on Instagram for ages (I love love love her cute kawaii style!) and so when I received their wedding photographs from Eric Roland I literally jumped up and down with glee! I knew this wedding was going to be awesome from the few sneaks I'd seen on her feed but I was little prepared for this level of amazement...

Unbelievably, Myles and Cait spent just $2000 on their incredibly detailed Maine wedding. Held at PLD Auction Barn in Mechanic Falls, the wedding was thrifty and gorgeous. Cait wore a dress made up of two summer dresses from oasap.com, $8 shoes from Goodwill and borrowed jewellery. Myles' outfit was also thrifted from Goodwill stores.

Are you ready for some unapologetic girlishness mixed with cute button and origami details alongside a kick ass heavily tattooed couple, pink dreadlocks, animal onesies and an awesome backyard setting? Well then you my dear are in luck because that's exactly what I have for you today!
Soya and Skip met in a rock club in Lincoln and after just a year of dating she proposed on 29th February! "From the beginning we knew we didn't want a traditional wedding", the bride began. "They are lovely and all, but they can really lack personality. We used things that we love to decorate. My favourite part of the whole day was the ceremony. It was emotional but with lots of light-hearted laughs. Our readings and vows summed us both up perfectly. We even had mention of our ever growing number of pet rats, Batman and Robin and a zombie apocalypse in our vows which were followed by a hand fasting."
