Jonnorae’s Nerdy Movie Theatre Wedding
October 5, 2010
Amorae & Jonny- or
Jonnorae as they often go by – wanted a very personal wedding…and they certain achieved that by celebrating their self proclaimed “nerdom”! The pulpit that the officiant stood was a throwback to the pipes that Mario traveled down, and instead of a typical unity candle or sand ceremony, they brewed a potion like Harry Potter! At the reception they wanted to pay homage to their ‘nerdiness’ with centrepieces of books, legos and miniature games hidden inside the hand painted faux books. They also held a quiz for their guests to play at their tables called “Jonnorae Geekdom Trivia” (by the way, I love this idea – we did it too!)
The ceremony, held at
Lakewood Theater in Dallas, TX was just as bespoke. Instead of traditional vows they played a round of rock, paper, scissors to decide who would read theirs first, and afterwards they both phones to update their facebook statuses to married!
Thank you to photographer Brandi for sharing this wedding today

My Neighbour Totoro and Star Wars Wedding: Sarah & Adam
April 15, 2014
Sarah and Adam's wedding was a true reflection of them. They love anime and Star Wars, so that was their starting point! The day was held at Priston Mill, Bath, in December. They wanted their day to be quirky (like them!) but also fun for their guests. They had retro games set up on the balcony of the barn and devised various drinking games, matching their theme, for their guests!
A Homemade Historic Mansion Wedding: Matt & Kellyann
August 10, 2012
Matt & Kellyann had a homemade wedding in the historic Colonial Dame, a mansion in Philadelphia. The DIY details included the escort table, some decorative pinwheels made from origami paper, the chalkboards, the ring bearer's book (an actual book instead of a cushion - inspired by The Clash's Combat Rock album art, and as a nod to Kellyann's bookish nature), the printed napkins and the invitations.

Lord of the Rings, Comic Books, and the Groom Dressed as a Power Ranger: Felicia & Joe
August 25, 2014
Well this is certainly something you don't see everyday! I have a funny feeling you're going to love this.
Felicia and Joe were hitched at the historic Warner Theatre in Washington DC. The bride wore a Vera Wang gown from her diffusion line at David's Bridal, but she had to compete with that groom of hers who rocked up dressed as his favourite Power Ranger! Who says brides get to have all the fun?
A Quirky Italian Wedding with Yellow Accents: Mariangela & Ignazio
November 2, 2012
In the most part Italian weddings are undeniably beautiful - the landscape, the buildings and the effortless chic of the people. Huge and family orientated traditional weddings are big business in Italy, with alternative or quirky nuptials being a rarity. So I was thrilled to receive Mariangela & Ignazio's quirky Italian wedding recently - I love to show both sides of the story after all!
