Sometimes really weird things happen and this is one of them..well maybe weird is not the right word, but coincidence. I was sent the link to this wedding by one my my wonderful readers Nibi. I checked out the photographers site (which I always do when I’m sent something to blog about) and realised I have actually been photographed by him myself! It was one of those family photo shoots you have…the photographs came out pretty cool and we’ve still got one on our living room wall – maybe I’ll share them one day.
Suzie and her rock star hubby Alex (check out his band, The Eruptors on myspace ) married at Danby Castle in North Yorkshire. The Bride Suzie said of their Rock ‘n Roll day..
I think the main idea of our wedding was getting a colourful and eclectic mix of our rock n’ roll and traditional aesthetic. I also think having me and my friends come from northern California brought something that stood out as different and a cool contrast in that very North Yorkshire landscape.
We’ve had a lot of the friends and family who came tell us it was one of the best weddings they’ve ever attended and that it was beautiful and unique. It was quite a feat for essentially planning the whole thing in a little over 2 months! To me, the best part was how intimate the whole day felt. I felt truly in love and surrounded by love.

I'm not really supposed to have favourites, but Betty might just be one of the most beautiful and radiant brides I've ever seen... I am totally smitten with her 1940s vintage lace dress (bought on eBay for £40!) and that adorable white faux flower crown and simple bouquet combo. Total perfection. She married Johnny in Cornwall during April and the wedding only cost £5000.

"I'm a vintage events organiser so the vintage vibe was a natural way to go", began the bride. "We’re both big 50s & 60s fans so we tried to combine the two in terms of the fashion but we didn't want a fancy dress wedding. My dress was late 50s/early 60s in style (vintage, which I had altered to fit) and Stu’s suit was a 60s style tonic suit from Mod shop Jump the Gun in Brighton."

The day started with an emotional ceremony at Aldenham School, Elstree and the reception was in tipis on Buckettsland Farm, Well End. "We said the whole way through the planning process that we didn't have a theme but looking back it was essentially junk and glitter", began the bride. "If you ever saw our flat, you would know that we’re not matchy-matchy people in the slightest. With a bride rocking mermaid green hair and a groom adding a much needed modern twist to the tweed suit, this couple wanted a wedding that screamed 'them'. Tim and Scarlett were married on 8th August, their five year anniversary. They had a church ceremony followed by a tea party reception in the gardens of Baxby Manor, a gorgeous 705 year old Manor house. "We knew that we wanted somewhere beautiful, and Baxby ticked all the boxes", Scarlett began. "It even came with a glamping site down the lane for all our guests to stay over! Baxby isn't a wedding venue, just a luxury holiday letting, but the owners were amazing and let us create a beautiful day there, as if it were our own house."
