I didn’t plan today’s post this way but when I was uploading all the images for the weddings I selected I realised we’re going to be taking a little trip all around the world – starting with this amazing red themed wedding from South Africa!

Philip & Jay’s wedding took place at Le Franschhoek Hotel and Spa, overlooking the spectacular South African landscape. The location made for some really unusual and fun places for their portraits. The incredible decor was all organised by Andele of Aleit Wedding Planners who was able to perfectly capture their vision of a eclectic, red-infused spectacular! I am totally nuts about those red glasses hanging from the roof and the ornate chandelier lying on the table - just amazing and so so original!

I am really starting to fall head over heels in love with Matt Johnson Photography…and I’m not afraid to admit it! His images are subtle, unobtrusive and captures beautiful weddings with all the justice they deserve.

Elodie & Greg’s wedding was one I fell in love with as soon as I saw the first frame. Her amazing vintage-inspired outfit, jewellery and so-now white lace gloves make me smile with glee and his rad groom style puts every other groom to shame! The no-jacket/waistcoat look is totally Rock n Roll and looks way-too-cool when matched with his boys in braces. The details of this wedding are to die for – from the birdcages, the white heart motif, the retro ‘admissions’ sign, the outdoor chandelier. Awesome.

Glamorous Art Deco

Jill & Andrew knew they wanted an Art Deco style wedding as soon as they got engaged. Jill in particular really looked the part in her Priscilla of Boston dress, gorgeous custom birdcage veil from Unveiled Bridal Designs, stunning necklace by Ranjana Khan and customised J Crew shoes.

Jill told me all about their day:
Andrew and I both love the Art Deco period of art, fashion and music. From the first moment he proposed with an estate amethyst rose gold ring from the 1940s (Louisiana), we knew our wedding would be vintage inspired. We love black and ivory and used these colors to create our classic wedding story. Peacock feathers, swing music, and birdcage veils for the belles of the bride all set the stage for our soiree. We fell in love with Savannah because of the ornate iron work, stunning mansions, Southern & European charm and historic standing. Savannah itself represents both of our roots, myself being from Georgia, and Andrew from England. The Mansion provided the perfect backdrop. Both being foodies, we chose tiers of artisan cheese to create our wedding cake from Murray’s in New York City.

Classy, elegant, retro. These are the words that came to me as soon as I saw Rebecca & Justin’s 1950s inspired engagement session. The shoot took place at The Ritz Ybor in downtown Tampa, a venue which perfectly reflected photographer Alicia’s vision for the session. Rebecca’s polka dot dress was from PinUp Girl Clothing and Justin looked the part in his trilby hat (which retails at $75 but he picked up for $6!) and waistcoat combo.

After featuring Kent & Roberta’s cute engagements, I knew their wedding would be equally adorable but little prepared me for this. I am all about Roberta’s own personal twist on her ‘Weddings by Debbie’ dress with the addition of a pink tulle underskirt, painstakingly sewn it by her Mother in Law - aww. Photographer Debbie has told me they have since done an awesome trash the dress shoot involving a bathtub – I can’t wait to see the results.
