Glamorous Art Deco

Jill & Andrew knew they wanted an Art Deco style wedding as soon as they got engaged. Jill in particular really looked the part in her Priscilla of Boston dress, gorgeous custom birdcage veil from Unveiled Bridal Designs, stunning necklace by Ranjana Khan and customised J Crew shoes.

Jill told me all about their day:
Andrew and I both love the Art Deco period of art, fashion and music. From the first moment he proposed with an estate amethyst rose gold ring from the 1940s (Louisiana), we knew our wedding would be vintage inspired. We love black and ivory and used these colors to create our classic wedding story. Peacock feathers, swing music, and birdcage veils for the belles of the bride all set the stage for our soiree. We fell in love with Savannah because of the ornate iron work, stunning mansions, Southern & European charm and historic standing. Savannah itself represents both of our roots, myself being from Georgia, and Andrew from England. The Mansion provided the perfect backdrop. Both being foodies, we chose tiers of artisan cheese to create our wedding cake from Murray’s in New York City.

Emotional & Theatrical

Classy, elegant, retro. These are the words that came to me as soon as I saw Rebecca & Justin’s 1950s inspired engagement session. The shoot took place at The Ritz Ybor in downtown Tampa, a venue which perfectly reflected photographer Alicia’s vision for the session. Rebecca’s polka dot dress was from PinUp Girl Clothing and Justin looked the part in his trilby hat (which retails at $75 but he picked up for $6!) and waistcoat combo.

After featuring Kent & Roberta’s cute engagements, I knew their wedding would be equally adorable but little prepared me for this. I am all about Roberta’s own personal twist on her ‘Weddings by Debbie’ dress with the addition of a pink tulle underskirt, painstakingly sewn it by her Mother in Law - aww. Photographer Debbie has told me they have since done an awesome trash the dress shoot involving a bathtub – I can’t wait to see the results.

Pure Glamour

Fancy some glamourous old Hollywood style portraits? You got it!

Miller + Miller is a husband + wife wedding photography team of Ryan + Sarah Miller.  Our fashion-inspired, editorial style, high-impact, creative, and dramatic wedding photography has yet to transform the words of “unique wedding photography” in the Chicago area.  We thrive to make people say “wow” or “that looks like it should be in an editorial magazine”.  What’s our secret?  Passion, creativity and transferring our 18 years of experience as graphic designers with an artistic vision, over to the camera.  Additionally as avid lovers of the outdoors and architecture, we typically incorporate unique settings and light providing a “sense of place” and depth of field within the composition of our photos.  With each shoot we aim to provide “kick-ass photos” for our bride and grooms to show off to their family and friends.

Firstly sorry for my usual huge lack of posts today, I had a somewhat crazy day at my day job – hence less time for blogging.  How very inconsiderate of my work to make me actually do work and not blogging!  Anyway I will most defiantly be catching up this evening, atarting right now with another little gem from Michele M. Waite.

Lyndsey & Matt had a gorgeous vintage style wedding in Blaine, WA complete with lovely vintage touches throughout including the glassware, seashells, table decor, old bikes which all came from the Bride’s store Penny Lane Vintage.

New Visions

Gracci from Pelaez Photography sent me some of her new fantastic engagement photographs a while ago, and I have been so busy I have only just been able to get around to posting them! Naughty blogger…

Gracci said to me:
We’re glad you liked the new engagement photos.  We hope the rest of our clients would be up for more.  We’re still in the process of defining our style and we really hope to find the right clients who are a perfect match to our visions of how to portray romance and glamour in contemporary art form.

I certainly love these…ahh the lighting!
