Adventure Playground Of Fun

Kat

August 28, 2009

Carrie & Brian got hitched on the snow-capped Mt. Hood at The Timberline Lodge. Carrie's amazing dress, cashmere-and-organza ruffle bolero and hair piece with chenille dot netting, feathers and flowers were all designed by Elizabeth Dye (who I have featured a few times before) an independent clothing designer in Portland, Oregon. Their wedding was a total adventure playground of fun. To get to the venue all guests had to snow cat up steep snow slopes of Mt. Hood in a near white out snow fall. Photographers Shawn & Bonnie went on to tell me more: Beyond that the night was full of quirk and personal style, from their unique toasts that involved in-unison speaking to their wedding vows that were a written haiku read line by line by each person in attendance. Worth The Wait

Kat

August 18, 2009

Sometimes a wedding comes along that is so damn fabulous that it's worth the wait for. I was sent an image of the bride trying on her stunning Elizabeth Dye dress by a reader, boy must have been about 6 months ago, and since then I have made it my mission to find more about the wedding, the dress, the girl, the guy and the stunning photography - it's all a bit too delightful for words huh?I am so excited to finally announce that I have the results right here! You are going to be completely gaga over these - I know I am! Ali & Danny were married on the 6th June at Bend, Oregon. The ruffles, the flowers, the cute cute shoes...I just love it all. The Pretty Pretty Princess Look

Kat

August 6, 2009

Brady & Carrie got hitched at Bimbo's 365 Club in San Francisco. A retro/vintage affair, Carrie even designed her dress herself and had it made by Atelier Des Modistes, a quint little boutique on Russian Hill. Carrie described the experience of designing her own dress as nerve-wracking but totally worth it. She didn't even get to see what the dress would actually look like until the final week as all the fittings are done with muslin. She painted a wonderful picture when she described the fittings, Families walk by at night after dinner and I remember little girls with their nose pressed to the glass door watching me in my "gown". They had that "pretty pretty princess" look in their eyes. So sweet. Thanks to Jeremy for sharing this gorgeous wedding with us - we hope to see a lit more of his photographic gorgeousness on Rock n Roll Bride soon! Credit: Jeremy Harris Weddings

Susan and Scheffer Ely’s Camp-Out Rock Star Fest!

Kat

June 11, 2009

Susan and Scheffer Ely (they already sound like rock stars!) got married at a property outside of the town of Mariposa (which is on the way to Yosemite). The couple did tons of work on the property and totally DIY’ed the lot. They did all of the adorable flowers in the trees, made the chandeliers over the dining area out of Manzanita branches and they even constructed a flame burning giant flower sculptures that decorated the pool area! They also had a self-portrait photo area where guests could dress up in costumes and take their photo.
