Tara & Travis’ Denim & Diamonds Wedding at The Burning Man Festival

Tara & Travis met at The Burning Man festival in 2007, so where better than to be wed than the very festival that brought them together? The ceremony, which they wrote themselves, took place under the Bliss dance statue in the middle festival and was performed by a close friend of the couple.

The theme for the wedding was Denim and Diamonds/Cowboy Chic. The couple did everything themselves and due to the festival location, had very laid back attitude to the ‘formalities’ of a wedding, “We had a good old fashioned BBQ for everyone – no one was turned away” they explained. Their table design and all the florals were provided by the fabulous Asiel Design.

Tara wore a stunning dress which she designed herself with the help of and Zalikha from Ossai Designs. She had it made for her by a local seamstress. Her headpiece was also by Ossai Designs and her cowboy boots were from eBay. Tara made all her own jewellery except her wedding ring. Her necklace and earrings were made of Peruvian aquamarine beads, hand-made copper beads that were oxidized and hand-made silver chain with a patina finish.  The groom’s ring was made from sterling silver and then hammered.

Travis wore a vintage western suit which he purchased from a local consignment store in San Francisco.

Be sure to check out all the fabulous details (that the couple collected and put together themselves) after the ‘jump’. So cool!

A Punk, Rockabilly, Neo-Gothic, Country & Western Wedding

So Michelle & Mike’s engagement sesh was awesome and Michelle’s bridals were totally gorgeous…but you ain’t see nothing yet. Just you check out their wedding!

Their “Rockabilly, car kulture, punk culture, antiques, vintage & neo-traditional design and styling, neo-gothic, country/western, low-brow art, tattoo culture, vintage pin-up/greaser” theme perfectly reflected what they loved and how they live their lives on a daily basis. They were so excited to share this with all their friends and families (and now you Rock n Roll rabble too!)

The whole wedding was perfectly put together and customised by the couple to give the day a truly unique feel. Everything from Michelle’s dress – which she bought as a ‘standard’ dress and had red tulle and the red waist panel added to it and veil – which her Mum made; to the centrepieces – which they made themselves with a mix of antique Coke bottles with sand, red water, a gerbera and curled wood; to the placecards and invitations– which they also made themselves, were unique and interesting.

Be sure to check out the full list of everyone and everything that went into this fabulous wedding after the ‘jump’

A Punk, Rockabilly, Neo-Gothic, Country & Western Engagement Sesh.

Michelle & Mike’s engagement session is a total reflection of them as a couple. They were inspired by Quentin Tarantino for the style and used their “Rockabilly, car kulture, punk culture, antiques, vintage & neo-traditional design and styling, neo-gothic, country/western, low-brow art, tattoo culture, vintage pin-up/greaser” personalities as the theme! They even brought a 1970 Mustang Grande & 1962 Chevrolet Biscayne along for the ride.

These are hella awesome right? Just you wait until you see Michelle’s awesome bridals their INCREDIBLE wedding which I’m posting later today!
