Ella and Brian pulled loosely from 70s motifs for their Indianapolis wedding, but mostly focused their planning on atmosphere they wanted to create. “Our biggest goal was to curate a vibe - fun, colourful, laid-back, open-hearted, and full of love", Ella said. "We wanted our friends to become friends with our other friends they didn’t know yet. We wanted it to feel like a PARTY, not a stuffy event that you HAVE to go to. All the people there were people we WANTED to be there, and we wanted them to want to be there, too!!!”

Georgia and Nathan’s wedding grew out of the life they already share and featured many of their favourite things: The arcade they go for date nights, the board games and Lego they loved to play together, and a shared fluency in internet jokes and pop culture references. The brief was never about landing on a single theme. "Whimsical, retro, camp, kitschy, Vegas-ish and arcade culture" was their reference point, as well as creating a day that felt manageable and comfortable for the neurodivergent bride.

The couple wanted a kitsch Alice in Wonderland vibe to their celebration with lots of homemade details. “We called it The Kitsissime Wedding,” Charlotte said. “It means the most kitsch wedding. It was a mix of vintage, too much stuff, and a little bit of Alice in Wonderland.”
