Kara and Ed’s Melbourne wedding was stitched together by their own hands. Every detail was pulled from their own creativity and a desire to create a day with retro heart and style. The bride made her veil, customised her shoes, and sewed velvet banners with their favourite love song lyrics on them. She even turned fake jellies into glowing centrepieces. They picked their own flowers on a farm, cooked the food themselves, and designed the whole thing around a bold pink and red palette with splashes of green.Read more...

Esther and Fernando’s wedding was about weaving their cultures, their humour, and their grief together to make their day feel personal. They called their theme “Chicano meets Coreano. California sober. Whimsy” and that’s exactly how it played out.Read more...

Carlo and Taylor didn’t want the big, 200-guests-you-barely-know kind of wedding. They wanted something louder, sharper, and unapologetically theirs. Enter the idea of flying to Las Vegas with just 25 of their love ones. “A modern, edgy, rock 'n' roll elopement meets vintage Vegas,” is how they put it. Tattoos out, rules in the bin, black and white everything.Read more...

Taylor Swift just got engaged, and the internet is already losing its collective mind. Will she wear a fairytale ballgown or a something more modern and fashion forward? Olivia and Taylor got married in Los Angeles, bringing their love of Halloween to life in a way that felt equal parts spooky and nostalgic. October was the obvious choice for the date, with a black and orange palette, pumpkins, skeletons, and nods to Frankenstein and his Bride setting the tone. As they put it, “We basically wanted to throw the greatest Halloween party that our guests will talk about for years to come.”Read more...

Taylor and Erik wanted a wedding that doubled as an adventure. They found it in Moab, Utah, surrounded by red rocks, sandstone arches, and the perfect amount of eerie timing. Taylor told us, “We originally chose our wedding date purely for the spooky thrill of getting married on Friday the 13th, but once we realised the eclipse was the next morning, it felt like the universe’s way of telling us: Yep, you picked the perfect time and place to kick off your life together as husband and wife.”Read more...

Did you know you can get married on the actual Hobbiton movie set in New Zealand? Danielle and Nathan did, and as two lifelong Tolkien fans it was the only place that made sense. A huge wedding was never on the cards. They wanted something small, something that was just for them, so they flew halfway across the world, ditched all the traditions, and tied the knot among hobbit holes and rolling green hills.Read more...

Some of us were born to wear black. We were the weird kids, the eyeliner-in-year-eight kids, the ones listening to Evanescence while everyone else was into N-Dubz. If that was you too, you’ll know that darkness is where we find our power.Read more...

Spooky weddings don’t just belong at Halloween. Karina and Jeff proved it with a gothic summerween slasher celebration in the middle of Arnos Vale Cemetery this June. The choice of venue raised eyebrows. Some people called it "kooky", but for Karina it was personal. She used to go there to read during a hard time in her life and later discovered her great-grandparents were buried there. “Even though I never met them it made me feel more connected to the place and its beauty,” she told us. They also had a hearse limo for the day instead of a normal car, "I really felt like Morticia Addams!" she said.Read more...

Many couples meet on dating apps, and Elena and Philip were no different. They immediately bonded over their nerdy tattoos - his, a Zelda design and hers a Star Wars rebellion piece. Jade and Stu had been together for ten years when they decided to combine their honeymoon with a wedding in Las Vegas. They wanted a day that reflected them, and that meant stripping away most of the formalities. No bridesmaids, no first dance, no “something old, new, borrowed, blue.” They stayed together the night before, got ready side by side, and walked into the ceremony at A Little White Chapel together.Read more...

I thought putting on 'the' dress would be a magical moment. The moment all the rom-coms promised. My mum crying and all the “Oh, you’re such a beautiful bride” comments. But when I looked in the mirror, I didn’t feel like one at all. I just felt like me. In a slightly ill-fitting big white dress. I guess it was 'the one', I didn't hate it... but wasn't I supposed to feel something else?Read more...
