Every June, the internet turns rainbow. Logos change colour, brands dust off their Pride collections and social feeds fill up with statements of support. Then, on July 1st, many of those rainbows disappear.
Queer couples have always been part of Rock n Roll Bride’s content. Not because diversity is trending or because inclusion performs well on social media, because LGBTQ+ people deserve to see themselves represented in wedding media in the exact same way as everyone else. So although this shoot is being published as Pride month comes to a close, we thought it was a great opportunity for a remind that your love matters year round.

Planned by Events by Elise and photographed by William Judd Photography, this shoot features a real married couple, Jose and Skyy. It also celebrates local queer vendors in the North Shore, Massachusetts area.
They told us, “We wanted to shoot a real couple, wearing gender-fluid wedding fashion that challenges traditional wedding attire through bold tailoring, editorial styling, and inclusive design. Inspired by the effortless cool of the ‘90s, the outfits reinterprets classic style with a modern edge. All of the pieces are actually designed to be worn by both men and women.”

The seating for the wedding dinner was an interconnected rainbow, each colour having its own unique corresponding tablescape and accessories. Even the cake beautifully incorporated the rainbow with coloured sugar and flowers.

The heart of Pride month has always been about visibility, community and the freedom to live authentically. Those values aren’t separate from what Rock n Roll Bride stands for.
So even though we are still seeing more queer representation than ever before in the wedding industry, continuing to publish shoots and weddings like this is still super important to us. If this post just makes one person feel more included in the conversation, it was absolutely worth us sharing.
