You know what decade of vintage doesn’t get enough love? The 1980s. The poufy sleeves, the enormous hair, the excessive use of blue eyeshadow. I mean, what’s not to love? Harry and Chloe clearly agree, because when it came to planning their 2025 wedding, there was one decade they turned to for inspiration. Not wanting it to feel too costumey, they also looked to modern weddings for décor inspiration, landing on a very on-trend pink and red colour palette for the reception.

“Our inspiration was Guns ‘n’ Roses’ November Rain video, with the drama of Meatloaf’s I Would Do Anything For Love and Celine Dion’s It’s All Coming Back To Me!” Chloe explained. “A blend of classy 80s (we didn’t want it to look fancy dress!) and the 80s-does-the-50s style. We had lots of ribbons and bows, vintage cake, reds and pinks. My inspiration for the day started with the dress itself, which I always knew I wanted. I worked everything else around the dress, which proved difficult at times as Harry didn’t know what I was going to wear!” The dress was bespoke, made by Lisa Lyons, and designed specifically for Chloe’s body and brief.

At the ceremony, they played the songs that inspired the theme of the day. A piano version of November Rain kicked things off, followed by Chloe walking down the aisle to I Would Do Anything For Love. While they signed the wedding certificate, one of Chloe’s bridesmaids sang an acoustic version of Paris Hilton’s Stars Are Blind. “It was AMAZING!” Chloe said.
The ring bearer brought another unexpected twist. Instead of assigning the role, they taped the ring box to the underside of a chair before guests arrived. Whoever found it became the ring bearer, a surprise for everyone in the room, including the couple.

After the ceremony, guests were sent ahead to a nearby pub while Harry and Chloe had their photos taken. Then everyone moved to The Hub for the reception. The structure was considered but relaxed. Speeches happened before the main course so no one had to sit through dinner feeling anxious. After dessert, Harry and Chloe slipped away again, this time for more photos around town.

When they returned, the cake was cut and the first dance followed. The rest of the evening unfolded without too much structure or pressure. “When we came back, we did our cake cutting and then our first dance,” Chloe said. “Everyone’s place name was also a note card, and each table was a different year in the future. We asked guests to write us a message to read on each anniversary. Our table names were based on our own private jokes that meant nothing to anyone else!”
