Cherry Bomb: A Rock ’n’ Roll Wedding Shoot for the Wedding Rebels

The concept for Cherry Bomb came straight from Vegas glitz and rock ‘n’ roll grit. Conceptualised by Heavy Petal and shot by Juliana Noelle Jumper, this shoot palette slams the door on restraint, leaning into saturated reds, punchy pinks, and metallic shine – all with an unruly 70s edge.

“This shoot was my love letter to those who refuse to blend in”, Jordy of Heavy Petal told us. “Beyond marking the debut of my rebrand and connecting with like-minded creatives, this shoot was about proving that boldness is a form of rebellion in a world that celebrates beige. I wanted to show couples that there are vendors who want to serve their wildest imaginations. Who believes your day should be as unapologetically authentic as you are. We wanted to channel that unapologetic, high-energy, funk-meets-glam aesthetic through bold colour, unique props, and styling that felt effortlessly cool and a little dangerous.”

Cherry Bomb speaks directly to the couples who feel unseen in the mainstream wedding feed. The ones who look at white-on-white minimalism and feel nothing. “Most wedding shoots play it safe, endlessly recreating the same white-on-white or pastel traditional looks”, Jordy continued. “There are already plenty of people serving that style. I’m here for the dreamers, the daring ones, the rebels.”

In other words: maximalism can be meaningful. Clashing colours can be considered. Glitter can totally be art.
