Meet at a punk show. Get married in the Punk Rock Museum. Lily and Luke had their wedding blueprint down from the start. Their story started years earlier when Luke was drumming for the band Subhumans. “I spotted him drumming and was obsessed straight away!!” she said. After that show, the two were together constantly and never looked back.
When it came to planning the wedding, they knew they didn’t want anything big or traditional. “An intimate wedding is more our style,” Lily explained. “We only invited six of our closest friends and family for a quick ceremony which made it more personal and special for us.”

They left the details to Electric Sugar Elopements, giving only the direction of red, black, and as much rock ‘n’ roll attitude as possible. “Electric Sugar Elopements basically handled everything for us”, she explained. “We chose their Getting Lucky package which included the venue, 90 minutes of professional photography, florals for the two of us, and a fantastic minister. The all-inclusive service was so easy and stress free.”

Lily wore the Siena mini dress in black from Wild Rose and Sparrow which her favourite Vans It took her a while to find the right dress beaus she knew she wanted something short, black and retro in style, but she struggled to find any bridal brands which fit the bill. Luke kept it simple: black shorts and a red and black Hawaiian shirt. “It didn’t take him long to decide Hawaiian shirt was the way to go!” Lily laughed.

The couple walked down the aisle together, the vows were fast, and the energy was loud. In fact, the whole thing felt like the exact opposite of the glossy, over-planned weddings they’d wanted to avoid. Afterward, Luke and his band Headstone Horrors plugged in and played a set in the Pennywise garage to close out the day. “It was absolutely iconic,” Lily said. “Our main goal was to make it intimate, very rock ‘n’ roll and to have fun. I definitely think we achieved that!”
