Angela and Garrett wanted to elope, but they also wanted a few of their favourite people with them, So they had the best of both words with their micro wedding in Vegas. They invited a few guests but it was ‘lets just run off to Vegas’ elopement vibes through and through.

“There was no theme really”, the bride began. “We wanted it to reflect our low maintenance, carefree personalities and mostly focus on Ange meeting the family face to face for the first time and Garrett seeing his family again properly for the first time in ten years.”

The Australian/ Filipino bride and American groom live in Bali, so flying over to Vegas was their biggest expense, but they pretty much saved money everywhere else. They worked with Hellbent Hitchings who planned the day for them. As out-of-towners, this made the process of marrying in Vegas super easy. They chose Velveteen Rabbit, an iconic bar in the Art’s District as their ceremony spot, where they were married out back.

“The only thing we really wish, is that my family could have been there”, Angela said. “But they live in Australia, and at the time we lived in Bali, it’s a really long trip for elderly parents to make, but we still felt their love and well wishes.”

The reception was exactly what you might expect when two tattoo artists get married in Vegas! “We literally just had a big pissup at the venue, danced and laughed and went back to the strip, ate dinner at a random fine dining restaurant in an absolutely inebriated state (staying respectful!) and partied and laughed down the strip til 4am.” The groom’s dad also got a tattoo!

“We skipped anything that would make the day laborious or feel too hard”, Angela concluded, “We skipped having a cake because we’d rather have a bevvy, skipped flowers because they literally grow on trees and you can pick them up at the gas station! Why make a fuss? Our day was all about a lack of structure and just having a good time with those we love, celebrating our union.”
