The couple met in a bar in Nashville, on Lucie’s last night of a solo trip. She’d decided to go there because she loves the music scene there – little did she know she’s also meet her husband! “Casey is a musician from Nashville and I live in the UK, but we stayed in touch when I got back home and video called every single day from then until I went back two months later”, she told us. “Within six months of our long distance relationship, Casey proposed to me outside the Grand Ole Opry and it was the easiest yes I’ve ever said. We then planned the wedding in three months!”

Lucie had always wanted a Vegas-style chapel ceremony with Elvis but obviously Nashville made more sense for them than Nevada. When they found the Rhinestone Wedding Chapel it all fell perfectly into place for their ‘Nash Vegas’ themed day.

“I had always wanted a Vegas style little chapel elopement with Elvis and Casey loved that idea too, but we wanted to do it in the city we fell in love in. The Rhinestone Wedding Chapel in Nashville has a Vegas vibe to it especially with the sign out front and also had Elvis Officiant as an option. We kept it very short and sweet and just the two of us and our friend who did the photography. The ceremony was only 15 minutes.”

Afterwards, they took photos around the chapel and drove to Sonic’s Drive-In where the staff gave them their food on the house and wrote a sweet ‘congrats’ message on the bag. They then met up with some friends and family later for food and drinks at the bar where they first met. “We went back to Doc Holliday’s Saloon and put another dollar bill on the wall next to our previous ones, this time with our wedding date and ‘Married as Fuck’ written on it!” Lucie explained. “We then finished our night in our favourite place – the famous Roberts Western World, for some traditional country music and a recession special.”

“We didn’t have the traditions of planning a wedding with a full ceremony and guests, we just kept it small, affordable and just what we wanted”, she concluded. “We just wanted it to be for us, and keep it our style and fun! The biggest cost was my flights to Nashville but everything else was very affordable. Our photographer was a friend, Casey’s outfit was all thrifted and mine came to less than £400 total! Our advice to others would just be to do it your way, and don’t worry about other people’s expectations or opinions. It’s your day! You don’t need to spend thousands to have an amazing wedding.”
