Garrett and Delaney’s Vegas wedding was just about having a weekend away with their families that felt easy and personal. They’d fallen for Sure Thing Chapel the moment they saw it and built everything else around that – hearts, pink, and whatever made them smile.
They also skipped anything that didn’t sit comfortably with them. No family walk down the aisle, no self-written vows, no traditional structure. Instead, they started the day with brunch in their wedding outfits before heading to the chapel. The ceremony was quick and funny – officiated by Hellvis, a performer with the exact kind of humour they both share. “He made the whole experience super quirky yet comfortable,” they said. “It lasted less than five minutes, which was exactly how we wanted it”.

Their whole Vegas trip became one long celebration. They rented a house with twenty of their closest people, complete with a pool, BBQs, and endless games. Delaney packed an entire suitcase full of pink and heart decorations to bring their kitschy Vegas vision to life. “Basically the whole weekend was a party,” she said. The only DIY project was Delaney’s bouquet, made from paper flowers and disco balls.

Their approach to planning was to ignore the rules. Once they realised they didn’t have to meet anyone’s expectations, the process became fun. They didn’t bother with anything branded for weddings, which helped them stay within budget. Delaney’s dress came from a prom dress website, and Garrett’s shirt was a random Instagram find that arrived without warning after weeks of silence. Their biggest expense ended up being brunch, which doubled as their pre-ceremony gathering.

They have no regrets… except maybe underestimating how hot Vegas gets in July at 2pm! But even though they were sweating, they wouldn’t change anything. “Weddings don’t need to be so stuffy or stressful!” the bride concluded. “This is one of the most exciting days of your life so have fun with it!”
