“Happiness is letting go of what you think your life is supposed to look like and celebrating it for everything that is is” – Mandy Hale
I still haven’t unpacked from my recent trip, the house is full of boxes of magazines, the bathroom needs a clean, my inbox is bursting, I’m feeling overwhelmed with everything I have to do… but right now I am happy.
I’m happy that this is my life. I’m happy that I have a husband that makes me laugh every single day. I’m happy about the 80s playlist I’m currently listening to. I’m happy that wine exists. I’m happy that I have sequins in wardrobe and pink lipstick in my make up bag. I’m happy that I live in a country where I’m treated as an equal, where I can dress how I damn well please and make my life whatever I want it to be.
Things can feel tough, stressful and super overwhelming at times but don’t forget that you have so much for be happy about!
These photos were taken in the Nevada desert in July. They make me very happy too!

This isn't something I ever thought I'd write about on this blog. In fact I toyed with the idea of whether or not I should actually post this for ages. But instead of trying to think about it too much I just started typing to see where it would go... writing is cathartic for me and I really just felt like I wanted to get this all out of my head. I'd decide whether to publish it or not later.
Six Things I’ve Learnt in Six Years of Marriage
April 11, 2014
Tomorrow is Gareth and my six year wedding anniversary. Instead of writing yet another "Oh I love him so much, he is my rock, without him I am nothing..." blog post (It's true by the way but... well... you know... snoooooze) I thought I'd share six of the most important lessons I've learnt in these six short years.
Rock n Roll Bride for Crown and Glory: Autumn/Winter 2013
October 21, 2013
Not content with just doing one collection together, Sophie of Crown and Glory and I decided early on in our collaboration that an Autumn/Winter range would need to be on the cards. Of course I love the rainbow, neon pop insanity of the first collection but I was also really excited to get a little bit deep, dark and moody for this second incarnation
30 Things To Do Before I’m 30 (in 30 Days!)
Made U Look
March 8, 2014
In thirty days I will be thirty years old. If I'm honest I haven't been particularly thrilled about hitting the big 3-0. People have been telling me how much I'll love it, how your thirties are so much better than your twenties etc etc, but I dunno, the latter part of this last decade has been pretty fucking fabulous.
An Idiot’s Guide to Rock n Roll Bride
January 1, 2014
Congratulations you're engaged! If you're new around these parts I'd like to say HAPPY NEW YEAR and a big fat hello. I am so excited to meet you. This is going to be one of the most awesome / stressful / exciting / fulfilling / hair-tearing (delete as appropriate) rides of your life and I for one can't wait for you to get started.
I loved planning my wedding so much that I made it into my career. Gareth & I were married in April 2008. I started this blog to document the journey and I haven't stopped since. That's me at the top by the way, doing what I do best, lying around in glitter and confetti!
Transforming My Wedding Dress for Our 10 Year Anniversary
April 9, 2018
In four days Gareth and I will celebrate our TEN YEAR wedding anniversary. I can't quite believe it! A DECADE.
With such a momentous milestone coming up, last year I started to think about ways we could celebrate. While moving over the summer, I pulled my wedding dress out of the back of my wardrobe to bring it over to the new house and I realised, bar a few photo shoots at the start of my blogging career (anyone remember these?!) it's pretty much sat there, collecting dust and getting all moth-eaten, since then. It's actually kinda sad when you think about it. You spend such a happy, important day in this dress and then it's either sold on, trashed or, like mine, relegated to the back of a closet.
Why I’m Quitting Rock n Roll Bride
April 1, 2016
When I started this blog I had no idea just how far it could take me. From quitting a well paid full time job to all expenses paid trips to Australia! I co-founded a workshop that taught over 1000 people all over the planet and launched a print magazine!! It really has been a wild ride and I wouldn't change anything that's happened for the world.
45 Things You Don’t Know About Me
April 2, 2014
You'll have to forgive me because this is nothing to do with weddings or business. But today I thought I'd draw back the curtains and share some of my secrets with you. I love finding out new things about the bloggers I read regularly, and I thought you might too. So here are 45 things you (probably) don't know about me!
