Win Your Wedding Dress from Oh My Honey!

Win your wedding dress with Oh My Honey and Rock n Roll Bride

Kat Hill

If there’s one thing I love more than anything about running this blog and my magazine, it’s that I have the opportunity to share with you some truly amazing and utterly creative wedding suppliers that might not be included in more mainstream publications.

Brighton based designer Louise O’Mahony of Oh My Honey falls squarely into that camp. I first discovered her when I featured this amazing snow queen shoot that she not only supplied the dresses for, but modelled in too (that’s her with the blue hair!) and I quickly fell in love with her colourful, whimsical, 1950s inspired wedding dresses.

Although her designs very definitely take their inspiration from vintage gowns, Louise designs with a modern bride in mind. The classic 50s elements are given an updated, fresh approach, and are cut to fit the modern woman’s silhouette. Her use of colourful fabrics, unique embellishments and quirky flirty feminine shapes is second to none, and details such as hot pink zips, ombre tulle petticoats and rainbow embroidered polka dots make these gowns perfect for those who want to stand out on their big day!

So as you can imagine I was pretty damn thrilled when the lady herself got in touch to ask if I’d be interested in running a contest for one of my readers to win a wedding dress. The winner will be able to choose from the following four designs:

Florence

Untitled

Miss Aniela

A simple sweetheart neckline, and dipped hem dress, made with beautiful matte satin fabric. With an amazing ombre choppy tulle petticoat fading from ivory to candy pink bursting out from underneath. This dress is sure to turn heads and is not for the feint of heart!

I’d choose Cara as the circle skirt style means I wouldn’t trip over the dress (I’m so clumsy) and my dodgy hip couldn’t take the weight of any of the heavy long dresses. The lace looks stunning and fits rights in with our vintage theme. We’re hoping for low key but classy day and Cara would look great in any setting, I’d probably team it with a light pastel underskirt for a very romantic but fun feel for our relaxed spring wedding for April 2016.

It’s a flattering style for anybody and allows you to incorporate colour and make it your own. i can already see it teamed with a wild flower bouquet.

    I’d like the Cara – it’s gorgeous.

My mum was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer so we’ll get married so that she’s there, we haven’t set a date quiet yet but it’ll be soon.

  3. i don’t even know how you can choose they are all so beautiful, I have to say I do love Florence!
It would fit in so well with out chabby chic/ festival wedding and blessing in the woods after, it’s a dress that I always go back and look at.

  4. Lou

All the dresses are beautiful but I would LOVE to win the Cara dress.
My partner and I are hoping to get married at the end of next May/start of June 2016. We’re planning to travel to San Francisco to do this, and after being together for 10 years, it’s important I get the right dress! Our trip will be really special to us, so I need a dress that fits my personality and is unique……but will also fit in my suitcase! 🙂

I love them all! But I’d choose Louella! It would be perfect for my wedding as my fiancé is riding into our wedding and wearing his leather biker jacket so I think this dress would make me feel like a 50’s movie star marrying James Dean. We get married on 23rd July 2016 and biker friends from all over Europe and the USA will be coming to celebrate, it will also be a special day because my fiancé will be 4 years clean and sober. So if I don’t win the dress I guess I’ll have to start looking for white leathers!
    Thanks for your consideration.
    Jess

The Hannah dress is absolutely stunning and so girly, I’d love to feel a million bucks wearing this dress to my wedding (also our 10 year anniversary)!!
    8th November 2015.

  7. Emma stainer

All of these dresses are so wonderfully beautiful but I’m in love with the louella! Quirky meets elegant fun and the polka dots are to die for! My partner and I are getting married on 28th may 2016 in a marquee at a lovely country house near where we live in Norfolk. This truly is the dress of my dreams and would go perfectly with my rainbow coloured bridesmaids!!

  8. Cindy

I wanne win the florence dress . Why because its fitting me like a glove ! Its different its spicy and its retro …. Hey thats me!!!! We are getting married this year in belgium and im sure belgium never seen a dress like these so bringit on … Pretty please !!!!

  9. I would choose the Cara. Our wedding is in Las Vegas and I have the unfortunate affliction of ginger hair so I’d like to mitigate sunburn by covering up with lace, but match the vintage theme of our junkyard wedding with this stunning design.

I’m not a girly girl and had no interest in marriage before I met my partner, so I have no plan and I’m running out of time as our wedding is on September 17th! Please teach me how to girl as I’m really struggling

Since I was just about to submit my order for the Mia dress on the Oh My Honey site, a discount code would be very welcome 🙂

My partner and I will be getting married at the end of June 2016 after being together for five years. Our day is going to be all about our us as a family, which has grown to two little boys in a relatively short space of time!
For me, having a beautiful dress is one of those important touches that will make the day memorable – it’s not often I have the time to dress up and get pretty!
My favourite one from the above is the Cara dress. It is very unique and glamorous in a low-key way. What we want most out of our day is fun and and a relaxed atmosphere – this dress’s style is all about not being too fussy, but with a firm nod to absolutely stunning. That’s the look I’d love for our special day.

  11. Claire

They’re all gorgeous, but I would choose the Cara Dress – it will be absolutely perfect for my wedding in Australia in early December this year. It’s going to be searing hot, so I’m looking for a lightweight, shorter dress that won’t have me melting in the heat! 🙂

  12. Kat Ridsdale

Ok…so I ‘ummmed’ and ‘aaaahhed’ about entering this competition as our wedding plans are not super conventional, and I didn’t want my friends to see it and spoil the fun 😉 I can say that our wedding is in the first half of 2016, and I can say that the Louella is gorgeous! …along with all the other dresses!!

  13. Eliska Macner

Oh my Florence, you beautiful dress,
    Only in you I can look my stunning best;
I am planning Ibizan, rainbow, vibrant setting,
    resembling a festival, explosions-of-colour-style wedding.
Florence will lift my spirits on every move,
Pinning all eyes on me as I set the strictly –style first dance groove.
As we are trying to keep the rain at bay,
We set the wedding for the 8th of May.
Florence is as unforgettable and unique as us,
Our story started in highschool and we are aiming for Mars!
The breathtaking Florence shall become the gem of our day,
She completely stole my heart; what more can I say!?!

  14. Kristen Drumm

I am getting married on September 18, 2015 and the Florence dress is exactly what I have been searching for!

The dress looks like a cotton candy dream and perfectly compliments our vintage Boardwalk theme!!! We are going to have Ferris wheel cupcake stands on the table and cotton candy favors and this dress reminds me of cupcakes and cotton candy!! I love it!!! xoxo

  15. Not sure I can top that ode to Florence up there, but I’ll try. I can’t unsee Florence. If it weren’t for the fact that I’m madly in love with my lady, I might have proposed to Florence instead. Now that I know she exists, my wedding will be ruined without her. Just kidding, she’s only a dress after all. But she is damn pretty and our first invitation has her name on it. Florence exudes the exact festive flare we’re going for and will accentuate the casual-yet-classy style we’ve perfected here in sunny San Diego, CA. Plus I’m a musician and Florence will definitely go on tour with me. I will pack her in my suitcase with my lace up boots and guitar strings. She will be my groupie and I will revel in all her hot pink glory.
