A Short Black Wedding Dress – Sarah & Adam’s My Chemical Romance

I’ll be honest, I’ve been looking forward to seeing Sarah & Adam’s wedding for an absolute age. You see, I saw Sarah’s incredible black wedding dress many times before the event, when I popped into see my girls at Fur Coat No Knickers in London. Laura & Emma showed the dress to me and told me I’d love the bride that has bought it – that she was cute and tattooed and wearing a black veil to match…and oh boy we’re they right! So without further ado…

“I would describe our wedding theme as American vintage,” Sarah told me. “With pretty carnival fairy lights, sweets and good music. Music was at the heart of our wedding. As My Chemical Romance’s biggest fan I had to walk down the aisle to their music (Desert Song) and we had songs that meant a lot to us throughout the day. From the music guests arrived to including Radiohead and Libertines, to the reading my Mum read during the ceremony (Bob Dylan’s Wedding Song), music playing constantly at the bar and during the meal.”

“We wanted a big wedding with all of our friends and family but it still had to feel personal and intimate, we had a little bit of us in every aspect of the day – from the Lost references, the comic book references and the music. People who didn’t get those little details could still enjoy them but those who understood them got that little something extra from the day and we always felt like the day was ‘us’ through and through.”

“We did all of the table decorations ourselves, tying ribbon around old jam jars and coffee jars to brighten them up and filling them with colourful sweets. We used blackboard paint and chalk for the table names.  We also designed the table plan ourselves. We had empty Coke bottles dotted around the bar with some simple flowers from Camden Market placed in them. I bought an old vanity case from Camden market and wrapped silk flowers and luggage tags to it to use as a gift box.”

Don’t you just love these guys?

Huge love and thanks to Sarah & Adam for sharing their fabulous day with us and of course to Laura & Emma of Fur Coat No Knickers for putting me onto them! You can read more about this fabulous wedding on Sarah & Adam’s wedsite, Our Chemical Romance.

Sarah makes an absolutley stunning bride she looks amazing!!! Everything about the wedding looks so adorable from the veil to the glittery black icing! Love it all.

  2. woow this is very very rock and roll wedding, I love it, everything is so cool and rock and roll and also like the pink and black combination, one of my favorites. Just lovely…
I`m really not that type of person, I mean rock and roll style ha , I actually prefer sweet, pink and puffy, martha stuart wedings but this wedding just rocks it`s perfect and reflect the personality of the couple.

Um, can we just talk about how DROP DEAD GORGEOUS the bride is! I love that she wore her snake bites. <3<3<3 That's the one thing I'm fighting my family on for my wedding. Everything is very traditional, but I want my personality to show through. I'm keeping my piercings and I'm letting my tattoos show, gosh darn it!!! (stomps foot like a 3 year old)

Very cool!! I love the fabric heels and the veil. She looks wicked cool! 😉

  6. Can I just say a huge thank you for all your lovely comments. We had the most fabulous day and I’m glad others think it was as fab as we did. Oh and Kate, keep putting your foot down about those piercings! Yes it’s a day for family and friends but most of all it’s the one day that you and your other half can have everything just as you want it. Compromise on the little things but never ever compromise on being you because you’ll be looking at those photos for the rest of your life and you’ll want to have the true you looking back 🙂

De-lurking to briefly gush over this gorgeous wedding.
That cake. It has holographic glitter?! AMAZING. I also love “Desert Song” as a song to walk down the aisle to. This is one of those weddings I wish desperately to have attended. It looks like so much fun.

  8. Hi Deer Donna, unfortunately I don’t have any Chad’s but I’ve got a fair few Valerie Vargas’ and a couple of Frank Carter’s 🙂

Wow, the bride looks fantastic, absolutely love the dress! I’m getting married in October in the same barn and my dress is also from Fur coat No Knickers, so seeing this wedding has made me very excited indeed. Love the bat tattoos on your arm.
