Troyene & Michael’s Multi-Coloured Marvel
December 14, 2010
I was sent Troyene & Michael’s wedding and day after sesh by their photographer Lara and I have to be honest I was instantly smitten with her dress! As a lady who loves a bit of multi-coloured action myself, I couldn’t wait to feature both sets of images together. The is one hell of a bumper post full of rainbow joy (check out the cake and umbrella too!) The dress is question was created for the bride by a friend and she wore it with
Vivienne Westwood shoes. Oh how I love this girl’s style.
The day after shoot took place at
Circus Sunrise, who were more than happy to let that happy couple have these fun shots taken.
Thanks to Lara for sharing her shots from the day with us today

Regula & Bruno’s Abandoned Fairground Wedding Portraits (Part Three)
August 10, 2011
So part one was spooky, part two was cute and part three is just...well...a whole other level! Could an abandoned fairground in Belgium possibly be the coolest photo shoot location ever?
"The day after our tea party reception we went on a adventure to an abandoned fairground that I used to visit as a child when it was still open," Regula told me. "I suddenly thought about it a few months ago and wondered what had become of it. I have some vivid childhood memories of it. Bruno and I wanted to go there as we love the creepy and romantic forgotten world feeling about it. We have a thing for the strangeness of old fairgrounds and fairs, hence the rock candy and candy apples at our reception. When I told our photographer Sassy of it she was so excited we decided to make a trip together."
Rainbow DIY Wedding in a Vineyard: Brianna & Alex
November 28, 2012
Oh rainbow weddings, how I adore you. To me, there's nothing more exciting than getting a wedding just like Brianna & Alex's in my inbox on a drizzly November morning. Talk about brightening up my whole week!
The outdoor location is like a dream, and one that this gorgeous pair completely decorated themselves. They literally hand made everything - all the decor, the paper flowers and even the bride's and bridesmaid's dresses! Everything just works so well. The wedding was held at Canungra Valley Vineyards in Brisbane, Australia.
Quirky & Colourful New South Wales Wedding: Melodie & Kurt
February 20, 2013
The colourful wedding of Melodie & Kurt was held at Hopewood Country House in Bowral, New South Wales. The bride designed her own wedding dress and glittered up her own shoes but the DIY didn't stop there - friends and family of the couple got stuck in wherever possible!
Colourful Melbourne Wedding: Alison & Jeremy
I Got You Babe
February 6, 2014
Alison and Jeremy's wedding took place in Melbourne, They had a non-denominational ceremony in a church and their reception was held at Shebeen, a super cool bar on Manchester Lane. Their day was super colourful and nearly all the décor was DIYed by the couple themselves. "We didn't really have a conscious theme," explained the bride. "We just put together a wedding that represented us. Throughout the planning process we questioned a lot of the usual traditions and culled elements of a traditional wedding that didn't have meaning for us."
Colourful, Reused and Kitsch Wedding in Tasmania: Lindsey & Ned
October 8, 2014
Lindsey and Ned were married in Tasmania, at the bride's parent's farm. overlooking the ocean. Their reception was at Stanley Town Hall. "Getting married on top of a hill overlooking the ocean (where the next landmass is South America!) and utilising whatever venue we could find locally was a pretty unique experience", began the bride. "A weather proof reception venue was key to us as we can't stand a flapping marquee on a windy, crappy night which is so often the case in Tassie. We were so lucky that the only place suitable was a recently restored, beautifully painted Art Deco hall! And it was only $800 to hire for four days!"
Carnival of Love
July 28, 2016

A Backyard Rainbow Wedding: Jason & Gwen
I Love that Glove
September 9, 2012
Honestly? I struggled with what to write about today. Usually on a Sunday I'll post something non-wedding related that's caught my eye or I'll share something exciting that I've done in the week. But I shared my Photography Farm retreat escapades in this week's Thursday Treats and since then I've basically been chained to my computer replying to the squillions of emails that came in whilst I was away and writing as many blog posts as physically possible. I also spent rather a lot of time on the phone to Cosmopolitan Magazine. NO BIG DEAL (more on this soon!)
And then this wedding pinged into my inbox and it all became clear.
Emotional DIY Kawaii Wedding: Talia & Zac
March 18, 2013
Isn't it funny when two of your worlds collide? I've been stalking following Talia on Instagram for ages (I love love love her cute kawaii style!) and so when I received their wedding photographs from Eric Roland I literally jumped up and down with glee! I knew this wedding was going to be awesome from the few sneaks I'd seen on her feed but I was little prepared for this level of amazement...
