Grungy, Decaying Attic Fashion Shoot
February 5, 2010
Sometimes the non-bridal stuff I get sent it so freakin’ awesome that it would be crime against humanity (and in this case fashion) not to share it.
Karolina Skorek is a painter and photographer from Poland who’s just opened a photography studio here in the UK. This amazing shoot was done with her friend and fashion designer Ewelina Sliwa. Aren’t her designs just wonderful? I love the grungy, decaying feel to this attic shots. Fabulousa!
Thanks to Karolina for sharing these with me

Polka Dots, Ice Cream & Rockabilly Babes
May 4, 2013
Two rockabilly babes, tattoos and seriously cute wedding dresses - what's not to love about this adorable set of images, shot in and around The Custard Factory in Birmingham? "This shoot came about from my vastly growing obsession with polka dots, in all their multicoloured forms", wrote button bouquet creator Emma, who masterminded the whole thing. "Actually, not just mine, but also many of my brides who often want a bit of dottiness in their bouquets! I wanted to create a look that would appeal to and inspire my clients so I set about this little collaboration with some wonderfully talented wedding peeps."
Mad Hatter’s Tea Party at The Fancy Dress Lodge
July 28, 2012
When artist Paula Shepherd, owner of The Fancy Dress Lodge (!!) in Winslow, decided to open her home as a wedding venue, she knew that a photo shoot to celebrate was in order. With the help of accessories designer Aria Sandis from A Little Bit Of Sparkle, she got to planning a shoot quirky enough to suit the eclectic space. "How about a Mad Hatter's Tea Party with a slightly insane twist?" they thought.
Light V’s Dark: A Pre-Raphaelite Inspired Same-Sex Wedding Shoot
Neil Thomas Douglas
November 7, 2016
Inspired by pre-Raphaelite paintings, the gothic surroundings of Carlowrie Castle and the juxtaposition between light and dark, florist Lisa Gaston and MUA Laura Gray wanted to put together a shoot that depicted two beautiful brides with very different styles, but very much in love.
A Trailer Trash Bridal Shoot with a Vintage Airstream
August 25, 2012
"Ever since I spent time travelling from Nashville to San Francisco last Autumn, I've benn obsessed with wanting to recreate vintage Americana!" wrote stylist Lynsey Le Keux. "This summer I had the pleasure of making it happen. I got together with some serious wedding industry talent including Sassy of Assassynation and Jo of The Couture Company. Our theme was 'trailer trash chic' which basically meant coney neck beers, dust-caked American cars, sweat smudged make up and broad blue skies. The aim was to portray unique bridal beauty against a backdrop of pure gritty trash... We wanted to inspire bridal styling outside of tradition and show our customers that they don't have to follow convention to rock a wedding - bridal beauty is subjective and one thing all the collaborators agreed on was how much we loved customers who did things their way."
Frothy Petticoats, Crystal Embellished Glasses & Coloured Smoke Bombs
August 6, 2012
Although not strictly bridal, this 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun' shoot makes my heart sing! What's not to love about frothy petticoats, crystal embellished accessories and coloured smoke bombs?! Set in the quaint English countryside, the quirky and edgy nature of the styling really pops! Aren't these some girls you'd love to hang out with... or have as your bridesmaids?! Er yes please!
Spooky ‘Three Brides’ Wedding Editorial
January 12, 2014
It's not often that I feature styled wedding shoots these days, quite simply because I have so many incredible real weddings to share with you! However when photographer Gary of Marshal Gray sent over this 'three brides' editorial that he shot at Belt Craft Studios, I had to bend my rule. I love the style of this session, especially how odd and slightly creepy it all is. This is certainly not something I see very often in wedding photography.
I’m Actually a Mermaid…
April 9, 2014
There's nothing that evokes childlike wonder quite like mermaids. I don't think there's any girl who watched The Little Mermaid as a kid and afterwards didn't wanted to be one... So when this shoot, although not strictly wedding inspired, landed in my inbox, I knew I wanted to share it with you. It's pure fantasy but that doesn't make it any less fabulous.
Horses, Rainbow Brights & a Tattooed Bride
October 9, 2012
If someone was to ask me to list my favourite things tattooed brides, bright rainbow colours and cute, furry animals would all fare pretty high on my list. So needless to say I didn't hesitate when I was sent this bridal shoot by wedding photographer Martin Hobby!
