Intimate & Stylish
May 13, 2009
The wedding of musician
Damien Jurado & photographer Sarah Murphy was a beautiful affair captured by their friend Jenny Jimenez. Don’t you just love Sarah’s dress? Their wedding was so intimate and quite frankly ridiculously stylish!

Having never been to a traditional wedding as adults, Jen & Nick really had no preconceptions about what should happen at a wedding. Instead they took to it as they might when planning any party...and they did what they wanted!
A Village Hall, DIY & A Beautiful Bride with Dreadlocks: Gavin & Hollie
July 10, 2012
I don't see enough brides with dreadlocks. Where are you hiding my dreadlock wielding readers?! My sister and her boyfriend have them (his are down past his waist!) and I find them very intriguing and totally beautiful...
So you can imagine my exuberance when Gavin & Hollie's wedding landed on my lap. "My good friends Gav and Hol got married in April", wrote wedding photographer Anna Clarke. "They are a beautiful and too-cool-for-school couple who had a yellow and green wedding. They did everything themselves including all the printed stuff, going to the flower market to get the flowers, decorating the village hall etc etc. I just love all the colours and Hollie's dreads piled into a big beehive. Her shoes are amaze-balls too..."
DIY Day of the Dead, Lobster and Rabbit-Themed Romantic Garden Party Wedding in London: Kirsty & Steve
We Heart Pictures
August 5, 2013
When Kirsty and Steve planned to marry they knew they wanted tradition to play no part in it. This started with their surname. Instead of keeping their own names or one of them taking the other's they decided to merge their two names to create a brand new one. So Kirsty Foster and Steve Pate became Mr & Mrs Fate!
When it came to capturing their wedding day they wanted photos that were bright, romantic, playful, with a little kooky edge. They found We Heart Pictures through Rock n Roll Bride and couldn't have been happier with their choice! They wedding took place on June 7th at Hoxton Hall, London.
An East London Wedding with an Industrial Vibe: Bianca & Paul
August 28, 2012
I often daydream about what our wedding would be like if we were to do it now (embarrassing admission alert!) and I think I've hit the daydream wedding jackpot with Bianca & Paul. The industrial vibe of their Shoreditch venue is just perfect perfect perrrfect. The space in question is Village Underground, an "evolving project building an international platform for creativity and culture" as the website describes it. SWOON.
A Dr. Seuss & Anthropologie Inspired Ballroom Wedding: Jen & Ilan
May 21, 2012
Jen & Ilan's spring wedding was held in a Seattle ballroom but it certainly wasn't your traditional ballroom wedding! "A DIY wonderland that could have been dreamed up by a love child of Dr. Seuss and Anthropologie," was how wedding photographer Laurel McConnell described it to me and I totally agree!
Simple & Cozy London Knees Up: Lee & Lauren
February 6, 2013
Red flowing locks, a faux fur coat, deep red flowers in her hair... as soon as I spied the beautiful Lauren on photographer Emma Case's blog I knew she was definitely a Rock n Roll bride. And then I saw the entire wedding and I literally couldn't wait to get it up on these pages - as soon as possible!
Lee & Lauren were married in November at Stoke Newington Town Hall. They has their reception at The Artisan of Clerkenwell, a pub/restaurant in North East London. They did things their own way. They picked a non-traditional venue, they homemade as much as possible and only invited people that they really wanted to be there. This wedding was every bit the modern fairytale.
Eclectic Basement Wedding: Louisa & Richie
April 10, 2014
This is definitely a wedding I wish I was at. Louisa and Richie sure do know how to throw one hell of a party! The styling for the celebration was really centred around their venue - the basement of Shoreditch Town Hall called The Ditch. An unusual choice maybe (and one with no natural light!) but it fit perfectly with what the couple wanted. Louisa's dress was designed by Catherine Deane. She wore Badgley Mischka and her veil was vintage.
A Purple Feathers, Purple Hair & DIY Elegance: Jeni & Manny
July 24, 2012
The eagle-eyed amongst you may recognise the gorgeous Jeni & Manny from their urban beach engagement shoot that I posted back in May. Well shortly after that feature they were married, and they pulled the whole incredible event off for under $5000!
