If there’s one thing we know to be true in wedding world ‘19, it’s that engaged couples are looking to save as much money as they possibly can. In fact, some reports coming though at the moment state that the £25k ‘average’ wedding budget that’s thrown around by the media may have in fact decreased to something much closer to £12k in the last year or so (thanks Brexit, thanks Trump). I have two very distinct sides to my personality: A rainbow loving, magpie emulating, glitter obsessive, 'Disney is everything!' side and an all-black-all-the-time, metal music listening, 'forever looking for the perfect nude lipstick' side. I am nothing if not a contradiction but for some reason it makes total sense to me. One day I want to roll myself in glitter, dress head to toe in rainbows and slick on some hot pink lipstick, and the next I only want to wear black and for everything to be clean and very neatly organised.Read more...

Choosing a venue has got to be, in my opinion anyway, one of the most stressful parts of planning a wedding. Not only is it usually one of the first things you have to do (you can’t really organise anything else until you know where the day will be taking place!) but its hugely time consuming. Narrowing down your search by venue type, location and budget… then comparing packages and prices to make sure you get the best deal and that everything you need is included with no hidden surprises is, quite frankly, a bloody nightmare.Read more...

I don't know about you, but I've always found sorting the venue one of most stressful parts of wedding planning. Not only is it one of the first things you need to do (you can't set your date, send out invitations or even really start planning your decor and theme until you know where the day will take place) but almost everything else hinges on getting this part right. Wedding favours get a bad rap but they are a great way to personalise your wedding tables. M&M's offer an amazing personalisation service, where you can choose the colours of the chocolates to match your theme and then add a logo, phrase or even a photo to the top of them! I obviously had to try it out and I think our logo looks so cute on the pink M&Ms. Even Gareth was like "Oooh these have our logo on them!" when he saw them. Crowd pleaser all round.Read more...

One of the thing I'm most proud of with Rock n Roll Bride is our position to encourage brides to do whatever they want for their wedding. There are two great life lessons I've learnt since embarking on our renovation project: Everything will take 1716 times longer than you hoped it would, and IKEA is basically brilliant. OK so I knew the latter already, but when you have people coming around for your first attempt at hosting Christmas Eve and you realise that morning that you haven't got enough chairs for everyone...
