Sarah and Mark met when they were sat next to each other on a flight to Sydney (they joke it was love at first flight!) They wanted to get married in the most fun and carefree way they could think of, so decided to go to Las Vegas!

“We are lovers of all things non-traditional,” explained Sarah, “so the idea of getting married in a way that was going to the most fun and carefree way available was our inspiration; it was basically to have a cool story to tell our kids. Our wedding was fun, fast and all things Vegas!”

They had chosen to have a shotgun wedding at A Little White Chapel, but the start was not quite what they expected, “Shortly after arriving at the chapel it actually went into lock down with Elvis on security duties! The chapel had become overrun with a massive family wanting a wedding right then and there. No one was really in control of the situation and in hindsight it’s actually really funny but at the time we were pretty confused!”

Luckily it was all smooth sailing after that, “The ceremony was epic! Elvis sung Blue Suede Shoes then walked me down the aisle. We said our vows, exchanged rings, kissed, then Elvis broke into song again we all started laughing and danced with him! We both married our best friend; we don’t think it gets much better than that.”

As they eloped, they didn’t rally have any major expenses for their wedding day, “We were lucky in that regard it was all pretty inexpensive. A Vegas wedding is a good way to save money. We loved planning the wedding together. It was really awesome to plan as we were doing a road trip right across The States for the month so wedding planning turned to holiday/honeymoon planning. It made the whole thing just one big adventure!”

“Our advice for future brides and grooms is don’t get caught up in what anyone else thinks or trying to please other people”, she concluded. “It’s a day for the two of you to be celebrating YOUR love. Don’t spend a house deposit on literally one day, but whatever you do make sure you have a blast doing it.”
