There’s playing it safe with your wedding styling, and then there’s getting married beneath a colossal crimson canopy. Created by a team of Nigerian wedding suppliers and artists in Abuja, this shoot explores what happens when one bold idea is given room to take over.

Their idea was to have one strong focal point for these images and it’s actually is a really useful lesson for anyone currently stuck doomscrolling Instagram, or who has 27 wedding Pinterest boards and no real idea where to begin. This shoot reminds us of the power of choosing one strong visual idea and committing to it.

“We wanted this creative collaboration to prove that bridal style can be fearless, artistic, and deeply personal”, photographer Victor exclusively told us. “The bold crimson installation against timeless fashion celebrates individuality, creativity, and the confidence to break from tradition while still embracing romance.”

With little else competing for attention, the sheer crimson drapery, created by Lioness & Coco, has room to make a really big impact. It proves that maximalism doesn’t always require more stuff, sometimes it comes from taking a single element and making it massive.

And this principle can be applied at any scale. Your version might be a wall of red fabric behind the ceremony, one oversized disco ball installation above the dance floor or a single colour repeated throughout the outfits and setting.
