The Importance of Freeze Framing Your Wedding Memories

Getting married is such a crazy, whirlwind of a time – engagement celebrations, planning the biggest party of your life, dealing with family politics.. you know the score! There is so much happening all at once but then suddenly, almost as quickly as it all started, it’s over. You’re married and onto the next chapter of your lives. Many couples say the wedding day itself goes by in a flash, but that run-up period does too.

Which is why, we love the idea of encouraging you to capture yourselves, and your memories as you go. A creative photo shoot is a great place to start, and Artur and Evgenya’s shoot perfectly embodies that idea because preserving memories was the inspiration behind the entire concept.

“This creative project was styled after the iconic movie Men in Black“, photographer Lilia Abrahamsen told us. “It serves as a visual reminder of how crucial it is to freeze our memories in time. We didn’t want to do just a standard, traditional photo shoot. Our main goal was to capture and elevate an atmosphere that completely aligns with the couple’s personal style.”

Men in Black is a huge part of our childhood nostalgia”, Evgenya agreed. “The core concept was to use this photo shoot to literally freeze time. We loved the idea of creating images that would allow us to look back many years from now and experience those exact emotions all over again from scratch – very much inspired by how the Men in Black manipulate memory and time. We chose Drøbak because of its incredibly cinematic atmosphere and the variety of visually interesting locations it offers.”

Creating imagery with more meaning, rather than just taking pretty pictures, is something we love at Rock n Roll Bride. And this shoot proves that anyone can step up and become the main hero of their own cinematic story!
