Desert Chic in Palm Springs

Chelsea and Brendon’s Palm Springs wedding was inspired by the desert. Their decor included cactus, mini pineapples and succulents.

“We got engaged in Palm Springs and it is one of our favourite places so we thought it would be suiting to get married there too,” the bride began. “We did find wedding planning hard, especially as it was a destination wedding. People are so kind to tell you how much fun you’re going to have planning your wedding but I wish someone would have said to me, ‘It’s going to be hard, you’re going to stress out, but remember what’s important’.”

Their outdoor ceremony, in the ground of the Cree Estate, was short and sweet. “Our ceremony was short, just how I wanted it. I am a huge crier so vows were something that we did in private together. Our officiant was a good friend of ours and he made us laugh and cry, it was perfect.”

The bride’s dress came from BHLDN and she had her bridesmaids pick their own outfits. The cake was made by a friend and they made their own invitations. “We also planted all the centrepieces, succulents and cacti on every table, ourselves. I loved being able to be creative and do things the way that I wanted them done.”

“There’s no way I could pick a favourite part. Every moment was amazing”, she concluded. “It was hot, 110 degrees, and we had a huge pool with a diving board right next to the dance floor. People ended up in the pool after dinner and Brendon and I jumped in at the end of the night, too!”
