“I love helping my customers get their perfect pair of shoes that brings together their personality and style”, Alex told me. “They may include anything and everything they love in the designs. In the past I have done shoes with names, places, dates, their favourite colours or even their whole love story on them! I’ve drawn sugar skulls, flowers, butterflies, even portraits of the bride and groom themselves –  the only limit is my customers imaginations!”

Each design is individual and completely bespoke, making them the perfect wedding shoe idea for brides that want something really unique and different. “My customers usually provide the plain shoes (to make sure they’re comfortable and fit properly) and then I paint them!”, she explains. “However I can provide the base shoes if people prefer.”

These are rad! I’m getting married September 2016, and it’s a rock theme wedding as me and my fiancé love rock/metal music. We’ll be having our guitars displayed near the cake, along with a rock themed wedding cake, grooms men and bridesmaid will sure to be rocking it out with us 🙂 I would love shoes with skulls, roses, feathers/wings, with our initials and wedding date in Roman numeric. I love my fiancé with a passion and cannot wait for the big day!!

  4. Sarah Palmer

Oh WOW! Where to start? Your art work is amazing! I’ve been lucky enough to already win some time from a dress designer and an origami bouquet so to have the shoes too would be the ultimate detail to our day of the dead wedding on halloween this year! Sugar skulls, spiders, cob webs, roses, dancing skeletons, tomb stones, cemetary scenes, my list goes on and on!! YES PLEASE………xxx

  5. tracie jo lecrone

I’m getting married on Halloween this year and my theme is an Elvira/ Munsters kind of thing. I’d love a pair of stilettos painted to match the mistress of the night dress I have. I’m walking down the aisle to type o negatives “Black No. 1”

  6. Dawn

I’m getting married next September, and we’re having a 1950s Rockabilly style throughout. To have some beautiful shoes designed would just be perfect!

  7. Samantha Clulow

These shoes are truly amazing, I have been looking for something to fit my Halloween/medieval wedding in October next year! Something with red and black to match my red and black wedding dress and a bit of Tim Burton’s the nightmare before Christmas thrown in somewhere as that’s my favourite film and there will be elements of it included in the wedding

  8. I’d love to win a pair of these for my August wedding in red white and silver Liverpool style (not football… The city) and sparkle girl has to have sparkle 🙂

  9. Cherie cornish

    These are amazing!
We get married in Cyprus so a nice beach theme with a Disney twang (im obsessed) maybe something to do with Rotherham football club & Rubix cube for my partner, a lifeline of our favourite things 🙂 xxx

  10. Caroline Johnson

I’m getting married next year and I really want shoes that wow people. We don’t really have a theme. But it’s kinda a modern fairy tale lots of gold and glitter. Oh and dinosaurs are a part of it because of an inside joke between me and my fiance from when we started dating.

  11. naomi small

I am having a traditional Scottish style wedding day with a wee twist and am arriving in an old style vw campervan! I would love shoes to reflect my day 🙂 what a dream to win these amazing shoes! Good luck to all the ladies! 🙂 xxx

  12. Erin

I love it! So wonderfully creative! I am still looking for my wedding breakfast/dancing shoes. We are having a ‘Swinging ’60s London’ wedding in London in October. I would absolutely love some brogues/flats/loafers to go with my 60s dress by Fur Coat No Knickers. So i’m thinking icons of the 1960s on them – The Beatles, Sandie Shaw, The Kinks, Marianne Faithful as well some London iconography, like the routemaster buses we are hiring on the day and our wedding venue which is unique in itself! We also have a lot of sunflowers and daisies on the day so the odd one or two of these would would so beautiful on them too. I would love my wedding shoes to completely sum up my wedding day and to keep them as a memory for the rest of my life. xxx

  13. louise pendlebury

would love to win a pair of these fab shoes, Im getting married next year in traditional wedding style, a pair of these would add the WOW to it.

  14. Abigail-Rose Townsend

This is such a lovely idea, and Middo shoes look amazing!

If I were to win I would love my shoes to be white, with brightly coloured origami cranes painted on them. The shoes that I would supply would be flat, or with a very low heel. I would love for the cranes to be in bright pinks, reds, golds, greens, blues and orange, but would be open to suggestions. It would be lovely if there could be a single rose and chrysanthemum on the heel – these are our wedding flowers (a rose because my first name is Abigail-Rose, a Chrysanthemum because my fiance is half Japanese). I would love for there to be writing along the side reading ‘Well this seems as good a place as any…’ – which are the words my fiance used to propose to me.

The inspiration for the shoes comes from that my fiance is half Japanese and it has been really important for us to include and recognise our respective heritages in our day. Given this I found out about the Japanese tradition of making a 1000 origami cranes in advance of the wedding day (apparently this brings good luck, and a Crane is supposed to appear after you’ve made 1000). I have set about attempting to do this (522/1000 to go and 10 months left to make the rest!) Given this origami cranes have become an important part of our day (and also our lives – the flat we share is covered in them!) Cranes have also come to symbolise so much for us – the love, trust and loyalty we have for each and overcoming obstacles no matter what in our lives. It seems so fitting that these would feature in my outfit on the day, and I would love for Middo Shoes to be part of it.

My wedding date is 30 April 2016.

  15. Kate

I’ve been looking at Middo shoes for sometime, as I was still deciding on shoes for my Wedding day.

I’ve finally got “The Dress” and as my Nana always told me to be unique, so a hand painted, one of a kind pair of shoes would be exactly that, and could complement my dress.

My partner asked me to marry her with a picnic, outside Castle Coch (Wales) and she always calls me her Princess, so I’d like a simple design to incorporate the look of the Castle, along with maybe a little Welsh flag (as she’s Welsh) on one shoe, with “Have I told you lately…” written down one side.

On the other shoe I’d like the quote “I love how she makes me feel, like anything’s possible, or like life is worth it.” From 500 Days of Summer (a film we first bonded over) and some sort of nod to blue M&Ms (something else we bonded over!)

On the heel, I love the “I do” Hearts…

We are getting married 3rd March 2016

These would be the most personal shoes a girl could have, and I would treasure them and pass them down to my children in years to come.
Thank you for your time. xx

  16. Victoria

    What stunning shoes!!!

I’d love the opportunity to wear shoes so amazing to go with the bespoke dramatic coloured dress I’m having made.

Our wedding theme is geeky enchanted woodland.

I’m making all our favourite films and TV shows with woodland/forest scenes into table centres:
    Star Wars – Endor
    LOTR – Lothlorien
    Hunger Games
    The Walking Dead
Battlestar Gallatica – Cylon occupied Caprica
    Harry Potter – Forbidden Forest
    Game of Thrones
    Doctor Who – Sherwood Forest

Then think lots of trailing greenery all in the spectacular setting of the very Tolkien-esque Cripps Barn – hopefully with an outdoor ceremony in the glades, but if not in the grand hall.

Taking place on May the Fourth – no other date is appropriate for two Star Wars nerds!

  17. Kate B

There are stunning – I’ve been looking for the perfect artist to do my wedding shoes! Our wedding on 5 March 2016 is anything but traditional so my shoes definitely need to be unique as well. Perfect!
